I have a registered orange PAYG SIM but how did you guys get this phone for under £80? It's showing as £99 plus the £10 top up

Which ROM did you install? Was it Paul from modaco's one? I probably should avoid getting this technical, but just in case. ;)
Yes, Paul's R3. R4 is out now though, and Froyo is on the horizon, there's a very very early froyo ROM there but I decided not to bother until its more stable.
  • so I just called up Orange....... there's no loyalty discount if you have a contract with them; just if you're on pay as you go for atleast 3 months :(

Also they told me there is no NHS discount for pay as you go phones. So how have people on here got that? Is there anything written by Orange anywhere?

  • thanks for the link.... it mentions the money off, but there's no link to anything explicitly written by Orange saying there's a NHS discount :/

This will be an incredibly basic thing but does this phone have a torch on it? On me good ol' sony Ericsson W610i I have a shortcut key set up to go to the camera's flash (which is pretty damn bright).... it's great for when I'm stumbling around in the dark looking for my keys. I'll miss it

It has no flash for the camera, therefore no torch, sorry. :(

you can download an app as a sort of torch, colour flashlight is one I recall seeing- dont think it would be as good as a torch though- makes your display become bright- but might be good enough for your needs?

NHS discount, is only available in store so phone sales probably dont know a lot about it. I could have used nhs dicount but couldnt be bothered to go into town so ordered online, went via quidco for £12 cashback, used student discount code for 10% off and had free delivery next day. Have had for 4days now and am still quite impresed with it

Just got this phone (the SF) and its a great phone for the money, does anyone know if you can get handsfree headphones for it, which will also control the music player?

BTW It does work with endomondo :)

You have to go into a shop with your NHS payslip and some ID as far as I am aware.
