Oh, well once you root it the Orange one goes and normal one replaces it. Gmail remains, separately. You could just download K9 or something similar. Which ROM did you install? Was it Paul from modaco's one? I probably should avoid getting this technical, but just in case.

Have You had a look at these settings, check the manual settings tab.

I was quite pleased with the phone on mine, I guess it depends on what you use it for/what you are used to previously. Granted, it wont replace my 12mp camera but will be used for taking snaps when out and about0
