I'd like to purchase a smartphone and would appreciate some recommendations on the best one available for £100.
I'm with T-Mobile so unlock costs would be useful, if the phone is not unlocked at the outset.
Thank you
Richard

Orange San Francisco is about that money, Android 2.1, 3.5" Capacitive touch screen.
99p Unlock Solution available.
Search the forums as there has been a discussion about it recently.0 -
I was hoping for some recommendations.
I am sure this thread would be useful to others.0 -

San Francisco is the only choice at this price point for me now.0 -
You can get the T-mobile Pulse Mini for £79.99. Only problem with this is it resistive touch screen, which means it works better with a stylus than it does with fingers.0

if I may re-iterate. The Orange Sanfrancisco IS the best option for under £100 at the time of writing. 3's Zte Racer, Vodaphones sub £100 (845?), and Tmobile's Pulse and Pulse mini don't even come close to the quality of this baby.
it literally is the best thing since Jesus Christ came and sliced bread
Buy It! Besides it's one of the cheapest to unlock. can't go wrong for 99p on ebay can you?0 -

Get the San Francisco - it's excellent and works perfectly on T-Mobile after being unlocked.0
