    Hi,

I have heard the music player is very poor on this phone - the speakers on the phone are not loud enough and very hard to listen to any music - Anyone who has used this phone can you conf if thats true?
    MS

The reviews I've seen give the speakers a big thumbs up. Hopefully the OP or others with the phone can confirm/refute.

  • I'm looking to buy this phone soon.

My wife works for the NHS which means she can get £20 off it :)

The speaker is fine more than loud enough.
As for music strangely i find the volume too low.Even at full volume its not as loud as my 3GS and you can still hear external noise with in ear phones.

How do you get the NHS discount? My MIL works for the NHS so may be able to use her to buy this phone.

    Thanks - Karen

You need to go in with your last payslip. I bought one yesterday. I previously went in with my ID badge and bank statement, but they wouldn't accept than and insisted on a payslip.

The NHS discount takes the San Francisco phone down to £79 + £10 top-up, which is great value. You can buy an unlock code on Ebay for £1.50 and then move to a better value network such as Giffgaff (who I think are the only network to offer unlimited internet).
  • Spot on Mark :)

I left giffgaff to take advantage of the T-Mobile sim deal and will buy one of these phones soon.

My only concern with unlocking a phone is it invalidates the phone warranty.

Re: T-Mobile question: Look here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2783708

There was a super deal for £7.50 and it seems the offer is now £10

I've looked and held the Optimus and it feels cheap - the screen is very plasticy (is that a word lol)

The reviews on the San Fran are better than any other phone in the same price bracket.

Before I buy one I need to know about the warranty being invalidated after it is unlocked - can it be factory restored minus the unlocking?

I also want to know if it will work with all the android apps.

I believe android.modaco.com will have all the info you need.
