Hi all
We're happy to keep this one open provided everyone sticks to discussion about the MoneySaving aspects of going through the menopause and doesn't suggest medical remedies.
Thanks!

MSE Andrea THANK YOU:j:j:j
Now for some help???? I have a 25inch thick memory foam matteress. I love it because I have lots of problems with my back and joints and so it keeps me really really comfortable. However with the hot flushes it is not so good because it is very warm. I already am sleeping with the balcony door open but has anyone got any cheap ideas as to how I can make it less warm??? It cost me over £1000 and it is worth every penny apart from this. So I don't want to change it but as I am also trying to be a "mortgage free wannabe" I haven't got any spare cash.Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D0 -

I sleep with an electric fan just inches from my bed aimed at my top half. I can reach out in the dark and switch it on as I chuck the covers off. Cost about £20. Couldn't do without it!
Alternatively have a hot water bottle filled with cold water nearby and slap it on the tummy  or rest your face & neck on it during a flush.
Or... have a wet flannel within arm's reach and use it for mopping the hot bits.
Oh, and you could try sleeping on a a thick towel."Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.”0 -

teacher could u put another quilt on top of the foam? not sure what makes them so much hotter so not sure if that would make it better or worse.
