There are cheaper ones, Virgin at £9.99 I believe, including evening and weekend calls free, broadband!!
I am paying Netservices £12.95 too much, but well worth it!!!
I think all those staying with V21 biscit need a gold medal!!
Happy New Year to everyone, regards, oap

After sending a request to V21 to cancel my £4.99 a month dialup I now find my login details to the customer service portal no longer work; sounds like a stupid question but is that it - Is my account cancelled? I was expecting some kind of e-mail response to my request, In fact I specifically requested this, but nothing as yet. Has anyone gone through this process? what is the likelyhood that they will take another payment? Any thoughts will be appreciated.0

SO SORRY and THANK YOU for pointing MY ERROR out to me, will shut up and go for a walk in the gales to blow the cobwebs off my mind AND TRY AND FORGET NETSERVICES, BISCIT AND V 21 FOREVER...........Cheers and thanks and happy New Year, oap0

OAP
Don`t want to get the new year off to a sour start but I did see somewhere that Newnet are increasing their prices dramatically.

Have you tried this link to log in to the members area.
http://portal.v21.co.uk/index.asp?exec=members&channel=members%20login
It brings up the V21 portal page and half way down it is a link to "login to my account" which opens a new window.
You should then be able to put your username and password to get in.
This is the link I use although I assume I`m a Biscit customer.0 -
Has anybody recently signed up with Fast4 £7.99 unlimited dial-up ?

I've just had an email from Naims explaining the position; see below. Naims customer services are always quick and very helpful. I will be reluctant to leave them but I do need good connections etc.
I hope this info perhaps throws a little more light on the recent occurrences:-
Thank you for your email
We have been involved with Biscit since they took over V21, we didn't really have any choice.
We have had a rocky time , the things that Biscit have had to get to grips with since they took over are.
The drifting payments system, this had to be monitored daily ,as soon as Biscit took over and this system went unmonitored,(nobody from V21 told them this ) it had freedom to charge and did.
This has has now been resolved, all payments are coming from a new system, new invoices, one payment date (the 1st of every month)so that is now real months instead of every 30 days.
There is a back log of duplicate charges to refund.
Unmetered dial up authentication server.
As previously mentioned, a card in the server was, and had been faulty for a while, causing a problem with the username and password authentication, again V21 monitored it and frequently rebooted the server to resolve the problem . V21 didn't want to pay for the replacement card and nobody at v21 thought to tell Biscit about it .
This card has now been changed. OK there seems to be a problem with the speed, which at first was also put down to the card. They realise this is probably not the case now, but again we believe they will fix it .
Then there was the Netservices problem. What a Nightmare !. However most of our broadband customers were moved before Netservices could cease their lines, but it has been hard work communicating the situation to the customers.
All in all, from a customer service point of view , we are now seeing loads of light at the end of the tunnel. We are back to general emails about day to day things.
What we are trying to say is ,yes we are sure there a load of Forums slating Biscit for the various nightmares ,but we believe these will subside in the new year.
Any way Happy New year once again
kind regards
Naims customer service

Please somebody tell me how to cancel my account with v21 I have emaild 4 times but nothing is hapening.0

Where did you see Newnet were increasing their prices, hmmm, will come off the internet if that sort of thing happens, that is the problem with one months notice, it goes either way. Pity because connections etc, are excellent and absolutely no problems. Will have to look at Primus again. Dont fancy Virgin as their help line is 25p a minute!! Will see what happens. Tiscali are supposed to be offering free line rental soon, may have a look at that.
Lets hope NetServices sees the light and stays as they are for the lite users, best wishes and all the best for the New Year, regards oap0 -

As far as I`m aware you have to put it in writing and send it to
BISCIT INTERNET LTD.
BERKELEY HOUSE,
HIGH STREET
EDGWARE
MIDDLESEX
HA8 7RP
Registered letter might be wise but knowing this lot you`ll probably get it back marked "return to sender".
What you have to remember is Biscit is a shabby company that doesn`t make it easy for people to leave.
If they cared anything for their customers they would put the link back in the members area allowing you to cancel
trouble is there would be a mass exodus!0
