I had the same problem as carpy - no problem at all in connecting on the 25th & 26th but virtually impossible to load any sites, managed to get one American site. Tried again a few minutes ago and started to get the same problem, but now seems to be getting back to normal.0

Ditto.
This is the first time in at least two days that I've been able to get a decent connection. Dial-up fine, email check fine, after that, nada!
If there's some MORON at V21 thinking this'll push us into upgrading to BB then, yes, this sort of hassle could do it.alared wrote:Are they doing this deliberately to get us onto BB?
But it sure as hell won't be with V21!!
I'm NOT political so DON'T correct me!0 -
I've also found connection has been sloooow, both Biscit and Tiscali.
This afternoon was the first time the computer has been on since Sunday,Biscit showed me connected at 33.2kbps, Tiscali at31.2kbps.
I have been trying Opera as a browser ,this can be configured to show how fast a page is loading rather than just green dots.
This afternoon Biscit and Tiscali were loading at 80 to 100bps (not kbps) compared to now, Biscit@ 31.2 kbps and pages loading @ 2.5/3.0 kbps.
This afternoon it was taking so long to get anywhere I was getting the timed out message , could not even get email -so went gardening -its soo mild here at the moment.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Hi all - for some time now I've been shelling out to fast4 as a backup to my broadband and it was only when I had to use it that i found how poor the provision was.
As the members area of the fast4 site seems to no longer exist does anyone have an address I can write to to cancel my subscription? Thanks.
[edit]: now found the v21 member portal and put through a request for cancellation; managed to get through to someone on the 0870 contact number but he sounded as if it was the first time he'd picked up a telephone - doesn't exactly inspire confidence...0 -
Just called V21 Customer Service re the Dial Up Problems over the past couple of days. The guy i spoke to on the phone stated that there is currently a fault with the 0808 number and BT are looking into it....Aparently normal service is to resume at 4pm!!! Not sure what normal service is though... lol

It`s a miracle you got through to anyone but at least they know about it.

Interesting, thanks for that. I started to have problems again a while after I posted yesterday (though I'd already done almost everything I wanted to do). This morning I got 'The Times' site more or less ok but most other things were impossible so I gave up. Tried again this afternoon (probably around 3.30) and it was charging along. Seems to have got a bit slow again now though.
Fingers crossed!0 -
It seems to be up and running "normally" now.
You can`t tell me they never knew about it earlier on
like a week ago.
Biscit are a real crummy company.0
