My normal payment date is the 19th but they took a payment on the 4th of this month.
I`m just waiting to see what happens next.
A couple of relatives had the same thing happen and for the Oct extra payment they had to reclaim from their bank (DD)

When I signed up to fast4 the options were Credit Card or Debit Card,I used the latter naively expecting to change to DD,I don't believe in CC's by the way .Perhaps I should reconsider but even then some have had problems.

A couple of months later it went belly up and they took the extra payments using my Debit card (Switch) this offers no protection. My bank said my only course of action was to report it to the police, as they cannot refuse a switch transaction.

I could have "lost" my card but this would have meant rearranging other DD's etc. Time and petrol to visit the police to get a crime number meant I would probably end up worse off than doing nothing.
    Strange logic I know.
I took a chance on what they would do in the following months,so far not too bad.

However a bit of investment by Biscit in some extra call centre staff might have left them in a better light.

Question:- I was originally fast4, now am I a v21 or Biscit customer? I suspect the latter, in any case I cannot access either members area using every combination of user name/password I can think of,plus those suggested on these pages.

    Enough whingeing for now
    Cheerio
    Move along, nothing to see.
  • I joined Freetalk in July of this £4.99 a month plus phone calls. The service was OK till the beginning of November and I thought the speed was good for dial up. It then started to slow down and couldn't get connected etc. Got an e mail to say that I was being transferred to Biscit and then I noticed extra payments were taken off my credit card on 28th Nov and 2nd Dec for £4.18 and £9.17. Looking back on this thread it seems they're uncontactable by phone. Has anyone had any success with a refund by writing?

When it was Fast4 you had the chance to enter the members area and change to DD.
For some reason they actually wanted you to be on DD.

Out of the blue I got an email saying I have been transferred to their parent company V21.
Next day another email saying "Biscit and V21 are now one" and telling me how great a company they are and how everything would be rosy.
Since then the rest is history
    crap service----crap connections
    crap slow speeds on websites
money stolen from people`s accounts by extra payments being taken,etc.,etc.

At a guess I would say you`re with crummy Biscit.
The only thing I can suggest is to politely email DField@biscit.net ,who has been helpful in the past, and explain your situation.
The other one you could try is the accounts manager dmiller@biscit.net

    As for the banks
    well what do you expect
they will try and wriggle out of anything that involves time and cost to them.
They are another gang that need a kick up the *rse along with the utility companies.

    Life`s an uphill struggle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Just gone slow again

Naims is my ISP who I understand have just been taken over by Biscit. Naims customer service is exceptionally good and helpful. BUT the connections now and speeds over Xmas are terrible. It seems anything to do with Biscit is to be avoided. I think it's time for me to stop complaining and spend my money elswhere - away from Biscit.

I presume V21/Biscit own or supply a few ISP's. Can anybody list these ISP's as I don't want to go near any of them.

I would think the best one to go to is the one they got rid of and is now independent of Biscit/V21:

I should have looked more closely at the fast4 members area,it's the old excuse I was working long hours etc.
Then the infamous email arrived and all went pear-shaped.

Thanks for the 2 suggestions, Dfield sorted my email v.promptly and supplied me with a new webmail password which had a v21 element. That was some weeks ago and he has not replied to anything since.I'll certainly try the other address.
I've said before, I cannot justify BB for my bit of usage and will probably stay as present especially if they do sort the payment situation, either by not taking payments or refund.

I think I'm a Biscit customer but cannot access any members area ,I've also tried the v21 members area.

It's flying at the moment 45.2, pages loading at up to 7.5kb/s according to Opera.
    Move along, nothing to see.

I would not think that niams have been taken over, I think they always sold V21 provided services. It was recomended by someone on ISPreview to check the URL of the registration pages when it asks for your credit card, if the domain is ispserve.co.uk you have selected a V21/Biscit reseller. There is an old list of ISPs suspected of being V21 sellers on Ispreview, but it is two years out of date and AFAIK some of the ISPs listed are not/no longer selling V21 services, http://www.ispreview.co.uk/talk/showthread.php?p=151236#post151236 .
  • Hi Hotchpotch,

It seems you are correct. Below is a message I've rec'd from Naims:-

"Biscit now own V21, the dispute is between the new V21/Biscit company and Netservices, the former broadband wholesaler of V21. Biscit have their own wholesale department and they are now supply Naims with our broadband requirements.

    Kind regards

    Naims customer service

    Naims.co.uk
    "

Definitely the Naims dial-up service has recently gone downhill; since Biscit's involvement.

Therefore like I said - I think it best, for me, to change to an ISP not involved with Biscit.

BTW - I'm still ploughing thru the 33 pages of postings. How about a knowledgeable member giving a precis of the postings; to date.
I'm sure others may be interested, but it takes a long time to read 33 pages - especially when they may be very slow loading ;)

Hello, I will sum it up for you, change to somebody else, I have gone with Netservices, no problems

There are cheaper ones, Virgin at £9.99 I believe, including evening and weekend calls free, broadband!!

I am paying Netservices £12.95 too much, but well worth it!!!

I think all those staying with V21 biscit need a gold medal!!

Happy New Year to everyone, regards, oap
