If there was a fault that BT had to investigate, how'd they know it'd be sorted by 16:00?
Sounds a bit suspicious to me!I'm NOT political so DON'T correct me!0 -
I'm the last person to defend Biscit but I put it down to the amount of traffic over the last few days, otherwise how do you explain Tiscali being so slow as well.
Yesterday I gave up on Tiscali after waiting 5 mins for a simple email to download .
Last night on Biscit my AVG update was showing a predicted download time of 1hr27mins for a 200kb file!
If there was a problem with their dialup number surely that would affect all websites and not just some as seemed to be the case.
As an aside Opera does let you see the actual numerical rate of download so if the site is slow, you do not have sit wondering if anything is happening if a green dot hasn't moved for a while.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Just got in from work and looks like V21 Dial Up is up and running normally again... if thats the correct word to use???
Will monitor over the next couple of days!0 -
Never had any dealings with Tiscali but from what I`ve read they are another CRAP ISP along side Biscit, who suddenly appeared out of the blue, promising great things but, so far, delivering CRAP service and blaming everyone but themselves.
"Seasonal demand" is not a valid reason for poor service, nor "peak times" or weekends or "the kids are on holiday from school".
If these cowboys can`t provide they service we pay for they should be run outta town.
Trouble is it`s not just the ISP`s,in this country we put up with crap service from everyone from the government down.
The saddest thing is that most folk accept it and seem tolerant with all the excuses and lies that they are told.0 -

I am free of v21/Biscit now so can't comment on the service this Christmas holiday but I can tell you that I NEVER had a problem during the previous 4 Christmases, the service was just fine 'whizzing' along at my normal 46kbs speed - on the very rare occasion that there was sluggishness one simple redial would put it right - that was with Free 24-7/v21. So why should there be a problem for you all this year?0 -
Biscit! Biscuit means cooked twice. Surely they should be called Half baked.
Heading for 1000 posts here. Can we make it before New Year?
Cheers, Dave0 -

Today I tried the following numbers but still didn`t get connected `til 5pm
08089933025
08089933127
08089933172
08089916234
They all dial-up but then the usual message about the remote not responding,etc.,etc.
Are the above numbers V21 Dial Up?? I can't see them mentioned on the V21 site?0 -
Yes all for Biscit/V21
The one I usually use is 0250 -
Everything seems to be running smoothly so far today on Dial Up!0

Take it easy guys, no way am I praising Tiscali but just used them to illustrate the point that other dialups were also slow.
Fast4/v21/biscit and Tiscali both showed a normalish connection speed but in reality loaded pages vv slowly.
I'm lucky that I don't need the internet for anything important so the original fast4 deal suited me fine.
It's horses for courses ,you get what you pay for, cheap'n cheerful etc, for £4.99 I can live with the odd glitch (October aside).
JoanneJ and others on dialup who had extra payments taken back in October check your bank accounts.
I'm probably tempting fate but up until this morning no £4.99 (due 18th) had been taken from my account.
Dare I suggest that eventhough they have not replied in any form, they might be crediting (repaying) the money they stole in October!
Today connection is at 45.2kbps with MSE pages arriving in seconds rather than the minutes of a couple of days ago.Move along, nothing to see.0
