I've noticed the same - nothing taken out in December. This despite claiming back a 2nd monthly payment which occurred in November.

Theoretically, I am in the GREEN! ;)

Looks like dial-up connections are lasting a minute or two last 12 hours or so. :wall:

From one extreme to the other! Every time I think these morons have finally got themselves sorted out, something else comes along to dispell the notion.

I've really gotta get out of this. I like the thought of bb and 'cos I don't download music and videos, or play games, etc, my usage is relatively low compared to many. Nice to access the internet whilst on the phone too, aye?

The way I see it, my options are (ruff guide only):

    * Primus BB - sent an email a few days ago requesting info but no response as of yet (oh dear...). A few on MSE appear to be having a good experience with these guys. With their rebate package you end up paying about £13/15 and get 1/2Mb, No download limit (yet), FREE TECH SUPPORT!, contract. (no reviews here yet)

    * EFH BB - excellent ratings, 8Mb, 1/2G cap, free set-up/modem/fixed_IP, £13.99/£14.99, contract. Review

    * Bethere BB - again, excellent recent ratings although early days were rubbish, up to 24Mb(!), 4G, Free wireless modem, £14 (£24 connection fee), no email/webspace, contract. Review

    * Virgin Bundle 3 - people appear to have either a very good experience or a very bad one with Virgin. Recent ratings are bad, possibly due to upgrading to 8Mb. Issues apparently resolved when speeds are capped? Theoretically good package for £9.99 ie free activation/modem, 3G cap, 1Mb, free weekend/eve landline telephoning, contract. Review

So, all you persevering masochists out there (yes, you alared, spud17, Capt Slog, exprog, et al) what d'ya reckon?

Or do you enjoy the pain...? :p

    Hi Nix,

I'm just waiting for BB from Primus (I followed Martin's tip and have been using them for free evening and weekend calls - excellent). I rang their Customer Service (freephone 0800 036 3839 to first enquire about their BB offer before ordering). Gordon from Cust. Services confirmed that they are no longer offering the phone rebate deal, so I will still keep the free evening and W/E calls, but I was told the BB deals are already discounted for Primus phone users. £14.99 for 1Mb / £16.99 for 2Mb / £17.99 for 8Mb. Free modem, 2 filters, free connection, unlimited, free support, 12 month contract.
Customer Service is open weekdays 08h-21h / Weekend 09h-18h
    Hope this is of help.

Can honestly say I`m not having any trouble connecting or with payments or with getting cut off.
In fact I`ve noticed after 2 hours there is no more automatic cut-off.
if the £4-99 a month continues i`ll continue to suffer!

Just after posting, the connections returned to normal (normal?)!

I think it's the uncertainty that's bugging me now - you know, when you keep nervously looking over your shoulder? :o

EFH are now owned by the company who own Ezeedsl, the ones who hijacked all V21's Netservices customers. I'd avoid them simply because of their new owners personally, but on general note, I'd avoid any company that had just been taken over, until you see what changes the new owners make.

Thanks Random, that's useful info. When did they take over?

I think I'm going to cry:

Primus don't offer their rebate anymore.

EHF have just been taken over and are now presumably an unknown quantity.

Virgin can be a hit or monstrous miss.

Bethere aren't enabling my exchange 'til June 2007.
