Yes, I got the same surprise! It appears Ofcom has had "discussions" with Netservices and we have 5 days service to go - see http://www.ofcom.org.uk/complain/internet/v21/.
If the ceased line procedure doesn't finish till 1 December (starts this Friday), why doesn't the service remain till then I wonder?
Anyway, make the best of it while it lasts... :j0 -
Hi Victor, well my e mails all came in, so I sent one to my son with the good news, cannot send any e mails, sent one to myself, same message, it gets more and more confusing. So then, we are to be cut off????

As I understand it, we are back on until our ceases go through, so if they take longer, we get free broadband for that time. If V21 have taken payment since the broadband went off, get it back, they are not supplying us, Netservices is, free.NetServices will be ceasing your line on 24th November if you have taken the option not to sign up with ezeeDSL. Between Wednesday 22 November and the time at which BT action your ceases you will be able to use the internet free of charge from NetServices.
From Netservices site.0 -

This suggests that, all being well, ADSL should be on till next Wednesday (29 November)...?0 -
My quote is from Netservices site, they don't exactly say the same thing as Ofcom, but on the bright side we are online!0

Still looking in case I get cut off again, but yes they took my £11.99 on 15 November, how do I get it back??? I have now cancelled the direct debit.0

Go see the bank, you may be able to get it back with the direct debit guarantee. Or you could wait until Biscit finally answer their phones, one day!0

It is a 1M/3G service but very cheap if you are happy to sign up for their free telecoms service (which gives free evening and weekend calls).
Also the security of signing up with a big player so bills are likely to be paid etc...
As regards your DD, see my earlier post #694. Go to your bank and don't wait for Biscit to respond. It's a very simple procedure to get your money back, thanks to the DD Guarantee.

@oap, sorry to see all the probs.
For your next choice you may want to consider a more reliable isp (as opposed to Visp).
Newnet falls into that category. It's also a monthly contract. Starting at £12.95 with the DD discount.
(at these prices, it isn't worth messing about with dialup, really, is it?)
If you are not a big downloader, then their Lite product with a 3 GB cap (just increased from 2GB) may be of interest to you.
3Gb is plenty for surfing and email with a little downloading, but if you should go above, then you are not cut off or fined, you can just buy extra bandwidth in 4GB blocks (at 0.70p per GB = 2.80 inc vat)
This gives speed of up to 8Mbps (depending on the quality of your line, of course)
It comes with 1 mailbox (1 email address proper) but if you want to, you can add a number of *aliases* which will forward to that mailbox address.
take a look here:-
http://www.newnet.co.uk/broadband/home.php
But (and there's always a but) they do charge the BTWholesale connection fee of £35, which is a reduction from £47
and, no, i don't work for them
[Edit : monthly figure altered to £12.95]0
