Given what's happened recently to Fast4 and V21 customers - not to mention the questions about their financial viability etc - I can't believe anyone is considering signing up now with either of these two - or are they one and the same in reality? - organisations!

Fast 4 used to be a VISP of V21's, however, when Biscit took over, Fast 4 separated itself from V21. It is now run by some of the previous staff/owners of V21, completely separately.
On the dialup front, for those of us missing our broadband, the 0808 is free, using your normal name and password. The 0845 is not free, and should be reported, by everyone, to Trading Standards/Consumer Direct.0 -

I'm not keen myself, as it seems too cheap. And I'm going with a big isp next time!0

What's the news on the V21 customer portal?
I've not been able to log into this since the take overs started, can anyone else access this?
I'm one of those who joined fast4 before the cut-off and so was transfered to V21. It took me ages to get back my 'free phone' dial-up, I have email (which I don't use) but still no luck on the members area.0 -

I was able to logon over the weekend - it's very slow but does get there.
Not that there's much in there to help us....0 -
Don't know if other people have seen the latest updates from Biscit:
http://portal.v21.co.uk/index.asp
concerning BB users.
The latest two don't appear on the status page so I've only just seen them.0 -

Just want to clarify on this...
When you go here
http://portal.v21.co.uk/index.asp?exec=members&channel=members%20login
and click on the "Login into your account" box, another screen lights up, and you can get into that with your user name and password?
It's just that I keep getting told that it's broken or 'down for maintanence'.0 -

Not really sure I can be any clearer......and just to be sure I'm logged in again just now...
Still not sure what good it'll do you? Says my account is on hold:rolleyes: No 5hit sherlock..:D0 -
Hi folks, just called in to the library to read up on your replies, well I logged on to the customer portal and it took my password etc, says my account is on hold and to ring 0870 4429600 - so will try that and see what they have to say, they took my £11.99 out of my bank on the 15th November for this month, but of course, not had any service, so I presume they are in breach of contract. Apparently we if we do nothing, according to offcom, cut off comes on 24 November, and bt stop it on the 9 December. It was mentioned on the television working lunch today, but did not learn anything from that that we donot already know.
Regards, oap
ps I presume if we get cut off we are not in breach of contract!!!! Not asked for my money back yet!!0
