Basically netservices will be ceasing broadband on the lines affected on the 24th November.

Customers will be looking at the 8th December as the first day they'll be able to place an order with a new provider.

    Hi normanmark,

Do you have a link for that information, or do you have other sources?

  • I cannot believe the way we customers have been treated in the last 24 hours - especially as the direct debit for my monthy (advance) payment to V21 was taken from my account yesterday as well - what timing!

Also amazing that they are only offering home customers their top of the range 30G £24-99 service - I only use less than 2G per month so it is totally unsuited to my needs (and many/most others I suspect). They do have other offerings at £15-99, £17-99 and £19-99 but these do not seem to be on offer - why on earth not?

Can anyone please advise if they have had any success obtaining a MAC code.

Clearly the companies involved are now at each others throats so I fear we may have to wait a while until this gets sorted. The legal process may take months?

Someone ought to come to the cutomers' rescue - but who?

PS Just checked that I hadn't thrown away my old 56k modem. What's the best way to get a basic internet connection ie number to dial? Thank goodness I moved my email to Google Mail some months ago, so i'm not completely b*******!

PPS I'd also signed up for the FreeTalk phone service - does anyone know how this is affected by all this?
  • Hi V

It's weaver here sat behind you as it happens!:D

The only option we have is V21 dial up at the mo.

From the NetServices website, I noted the following:
"V Two One receive wholesale broadband services from a number of suppliers, one of which is NetServices..."

So, if NetServices are not their only supplier, surely they can continue to supply a broadband service with the other suppliers? Unless, of course, all the money taken from us doesn't get passed on...

    Thanks for the link.

Call me suspicious, but does this

"For any broadband users who do not wish to take up this migration offer, NetServices will request that broadband is ceased on their telephone line on 24th November."

leave open the possibility that such 'ceasing' might not automatically occur for all those who do not "wish to take up the offer"? Could BB users get to the 24th and find that nothing has been done? Have Netservices anywhere categorically stated that anyone not signed up with EzeeDSL by the 24th will be 'ceased' on that date?

Don't know, but I guess not. V21 would be the supplier if the customers had actually been transferred to them from Fast4. This legal dispute, as far as I understand it, effectively means that NetServices is refusing to transfer the accounts to V21, meaning that V21 have nothing to do with it; at least not unless and until customers have their lines made available by a MAC or a 'ceasing' and then choose V21 as the new supplier (- the Status page says that V21 is offering a month's free BB access to such customers). :(
