ginger_nuts wrote:so how do I get my MAC .There is no way I am paying Ezee £24.99
Exactly what I need to know, I've phoned net services and there recorded message basicly says don't bother asking for a MAC code if your from V21 because they can't give you one! Theres no way I'm signing up with Ezee either, I'm so annoyed, I'm using my bros computer to try and sort this all out.
Hi by the way - my first post but I've been lurking for a couple of weeks!0 -

Perhaps one could nip around and ask them personally.0 -
It seems the connections will be totally terminated from 24th Nov. Ezee will then ask BT etc to cease the DSL to the modems and customers will then have to start from scratch as if new to BB. This will be the only route to go down if not willing to go with Ezee @ £24.00 which I certainly don't want to do.M.E..... MORE than you know0

Anyone who can't get on their broadband, the V21 free backup dialup still seems to be working.
For username use the part before the @ - so bob@speeddsl.com would just use bob. Password is the same as your broadband one, and the number is 08089933025.
There is no way I am signing up to Ezeedsl, this is at least the third time they have done this - Netservices refuse to cease lines for several days in the hope that people are so desperate they'll agree to anything. I'd rather use dialup than give in to tactics like these!0 -
The reason they billed you, though it should ahve only been once, is because Biscit had apparently no idea this was going to happen either. I was on the phone to them at the time, and I don't think the person (who I think is a manager?) had any idea what was happening.
Anyone tempted by the Ezee dsl offer, just think, do you want to be with a supplier that pulls these kind of tricks? Especially without even warning the company they are doing it to!0 -
I signed up with them right away because I was so impressed with their generosity and altruism - surely such a noble gesture couldn't be concealing any ulterior motive....... could it?
I was in the process of escaping from V21 and had asked for my MAC, given my authority for it to be deducted alng with my subscription - £35 plus £16.99 - I've tried to cancel that at the bank today but guess what? I can't. It was a CARD payment, totally in the beneficiaries hands and it cannot be cancelled. Ever. They can take as much as they want whenever they want and there's nothing I can do about it, except close my bank account. How we laughed. I told the bank that any withdrawal by them would be frausulant since they were no longer in a position to fulfil their contractual obligations. Barclays shrug and do that enigmatic banker smile. I begin to think I'm in a Kafka play.
Anyway back to Biscit. And 186 oe ezee or whatever they are called. How did they manage to hijack my line without a MAC? Might thisd be because NETSERVICES hold the tag and can reassign it to whoever they like? Or maybe they just hold the tag, period. Nothing has changed for them, except a heap of customers end up on Ezee's doorstep waving money at them.
If anyone DOES want to escape Ezee, remember they are covered by the Distance Selling regulations. You can get out of the contract by giving them notice within seven days of signing up...... how long it would take you to get a MAC then.... is anybodies guess!0 -
ok so lets see if I have this right ,in 10 days time Ezee will tell BT I dont have BB and I am free to move elsewhere .So where are we going to move to .
Edit I have/had a 12 month contract with fast4 from May ,can they hold me to it .0 -
The annoying thing is We will now probably have to pay a new connection fee which is usually higher than a migration fee, just because someone, somewhere has decided to not give out the MAC codes, as well as be without broadband for a couple of weeks at least!
Oh well back to looking for a new ISP.....0 -

Basically netservices will be ceasing broadband on the lines affected on the 24th November.
Customers will be looking at the 8th December as the first day they'll be able to place an order with a new provider.0
