OAP
Interesting to note that your BB was down all day as well.
Needless to say----no info on their members site about the downtime.
Same here!
On again now...I'm NOT political so DON'T correct me!0 -
NO D/U net access from 1330 11/11 and gave up the half hourly attempts at 2245.
Missed out on so many vital transactions and other online stuff I had planned to tackle.
This is SO inconvenient. Just as bad as having a phone line or water cut. These services have become like Utilities when so much of day to day business is tied up online (all the 'paperless only' options taken up with companies years ago) and it is imperative that companies that pledge to provide such services ensure that they are reliable. People rely on their online access for day to day living.
BISC*HIT have consistently proven that reliablity and necessary support/communication is not a priority for them; no matter how many times their CEO and/or site boasts to the contrary. And as I discovered yesterday, the declaration that a 24/7 UK based support network is provided is not borne out since I have only ever been given an option to 'leave a voicemail for our engineers and they will phone back"....and they rarely do (once for 15 v-mails over 13 days!).
Have been able to get online now (0900 12/11) but the Biscit site has NO mention of any service problems for yesterday only mention of some downtime on another day. It seems obvious from other posters here that 'downtime' occured for others; including BB users.
The minimum expectation for customers is that at least BISC*HIT could inform with adequate notice, the periods when non-access is likely to occur then customers can prepare for this and not waste endless hours tapping in details only to get the mantra "timed out...server did not respond".
And STILL no refund for the monies stolen and no information as to where I receive updates re future billing (V21 refuses to recognise me and why should they? I signed up with Fast 4.)
More fodder for the unfortunate magistrate.....

I had the same problem too  ! When dialling up I kept getting the "Unable to Esablish Connection" message.
How long does it take these guys to respond to an email? I've sent the same email through the Contact system in the members area, to accounts@biscit.net and to dfield@biscit.net. It must be at least 2 weeks and I'm still waiting for a response  .0 -

You must be psychic! Just had the Water board van come down our road telling us that our water will be cut off for two hours in 15 minutes time. Do us all a favour and don't go mentioning any nuclear explosions please! :rotfl:
By the way, also found out that I can't use smtp.members.v21.co.uk at the mo'. Anyone else?I'm NOT political so DON'T correct me!0 -

Don't apologise, I quite understand.GuessWho wrote:
It is looking a little more optimistic now as the *upgrade* work continues.
Also, now the gates have finally been opened it should perhaps make things a little easier for future escapees
Yes, indeed. Possibly work has continued over the weekend. Some people seem to have had trouble getting net access yesterday. No consolation to them, but I started using the net by about 7.00 am yesterday and was continually logging on and off until 1.00 pm (when it was time to get ready for Star Trek on tv) and had no problems at all.
I don't care about the email but occasionally test the situation. Maybe about a week ago I successfully logged on to http://webmail.speed-mail.co.uk but couldn't do anything. I tried sending an email to that account but it bounced back.
This morning I tried again. It now seems to be working a bit better. It allowed me to compose and send an email and that email was received. However I also tried sending an email to my speed-mail address and it bounced back.
So on balance I guess that counts as further progress. :j0 -
Shame about your dry period Nix.....nowt to do with me...(turns tap on and leaves running, just to gloat.....)
Anyone here an ex-Fast 4 mug? V21 Members area has NEVER accepted my details as valid.
Cannot see a Biscit Members Console.....is there such a thing? If so then would appreciate anyone pointing me in that direction.
Have no idea how will be informed of upcoming bill date and amount to be taken and, as everyone knows, Biscit will be the last to respond to this query.
F4 used to notify by the Speed-mail address they foisted upon me. This account was re-launched when Biscit finally got round to it but is not being used as info conduit like the previous Contractual Obligatory Company (Fast-4-leaving-u2-rot). Do I have to open a Biscit email address then?0 -

Thanks a bunch!! :rotfl:Anyone here an ex-Fast 4 mug? V21 Members area has NEVER accepted my details as valid.
Yup, I'm one of those...
I've been able to use the V21 customer portal using my unchanged user name and password (from F4 days) but only with Internet Explorer and not my usual Firefox browser for some odd reason.
Don't use F4/V21/Bis*hit as my pop3 so can't comment. Their smtp is still down tho' and this is the only setting I've had to change from when I was with F4.I'm NOT political so DON'T correct me!0 -
i'm a ex fast4 customer too
haven't been able to connect since yesterday!!! not happy
my feeling is that the members portal doesn't work because they don't want people being able to contact them that way (they'd rather you ring a national rate number), also it makes it hard to cancel (which at present i'd guess the majority if not all their customers would like to do!!), and finally you can't see your account information so are none the wiser about billing etc.
i will be expecting some sort of refund/compensation for all this......0 -
Yes numerous occassions when not able to connect.
Now is one of those periods ,(connected with payasugo )at present.
Wonder if this is some sort of policy.0 -
Reminder, I am on broadband V21/biscit was Fast 4 dial up
I have been off air all day up to now, then found I can connect again, left a message yesterday on the 24/7 engineer line, they have not returned the call, why do I keep falling for it, not ringing again, however, I have just been on to customer link and they have changed it all, my next billing date was 13 November, tomorrow, but now it says being processed, hmmm.
Also, when you go on new enquiry, there is a paragraph saying use the self help, if you cannot get satisfaction, then there will be a contact them at the end, there is a drop down menu to choose from, so i clicked on ADSL problem, it said 'does your modem router, indicate a connection to the ADSL signal, ' of course it does,I would not be connected if it wasn't, if you say no, it takes you through various more questions ie phone lines, etc, loads of stuff, if you keep saying no eventually you get to send them a contact message, so they have been updating all of that page, and its not as good as it was before!!!!!
It would be nice if they could at least warn us that they are going to cut us off all day, we had arranged to see our grandson this morning on their new webcam, so that has been missed as he is not there now.
I think if this goes on I shall be joining you all and getting away from this mess, I had such a good price though, and its all I can really afford, do I remember rightly that Primus was a tenner?
Cheers, if I am on line again, will keep you posted, but nice to see I am not the only one.
Regards oap0
