    Just out of interest...
Is there anyone else here who can't connect to the free dial up numbers, or is it just me??

    Slog,
I`ve NEVER cchanged my dial-up number since this whole fiasco started.
Still using 0808 9933025 but noticed that I now get cut off after one hour.

I'm still using my original dial-up number 0808 9933025 with all the original passwords etc. Only thing I can't do at the moment, besides getting any sense out of V21/Biscit, is using the smtp.

Makes you wonder though, how many people are there who depend on their single dial-up connection provided by Fast4/V21/Biscit who can't access the internet at all?

They may even think that the problem lies within their own computer?

    Quite a few, I reckon!

If I couldn't get onto the Net via the alternate numbers provided by V21/Biscit, I'd be wondering if it was my PC too.

I've printed out the "set up a new connection" stuff from their website, and I'll go through it tonight just to make absolutely sure I've not got something in the wrong place.

    STOP PRESS!

Whilst typing this, I've just had a call from Biscit. I don't know whether this was generated from last week, or the message I sent a hour ago saying that I would notify my CC company of fraud if they tried to take more money and not contacted me by 5pm tomorrow.

    Anyhow.

1.She confirmed that I was a customer, something I've never been certain of.
2.Gave me an 0808 dialup number which I'm not sure I've seen before 9933172
3.Said that the terms and conditions were as before the takeover of my account

I can't chech any of this until tonight.

Thank you all so much for the input, what would we do without you thank goodness for mse.

I have tried setting it all up with different things ie biscit instead of speedmail but no use.

Did anyone be able to tell me why It recognises my password for internet connection but not e mail they are both the same?

Is it because they have messed up my password for e mails or something like that, and why did they, it was all working beautifully on the broadband and so fast , why mend it when it wasnot broke?? best wishes and thanks again all of y ou oap

    Just had a look.

Although not secure (ie encrypted), the information given is really only your name and email address. Personally, I wouldn't bother as customer services are pretty much non-existant at the moment.

A thought - given all the time, effort and money you're spending chasing up V21, I hope you're keeping a record! Might come in real handy later... ;)
Yes I have about £6 so far

Don’t bother with your settings. This is there problem not ours. I have not been able to connect, via these jokers, for weeks. Dial up Connection always comes up with

    “Dialing...
    Connected to remote computer.
    Verifying user name and password...
    Invalid user name or password.”

That happens with all three 0808 numbers including the new 3172 one.

    Just went here:

    http://v21status.biscit.net/index.php

and followed the link to here:

    http://support.biscit.net/Index.php?action=artikel&cat=30&id=181&artlang=en

To find instructions on how to set up an internet connection. Included is this:

“On the next screen you will be prompted for the phone number for the ISP. Enter
    Anytime Dial Up:
    · 0808 663 3025
    Pay As You Go Dialup
    · 0845 6041073
    · 0845 6041186
    · 0845 6041187”

Guess what? The 08086633025 number is unattainable. :rotfl:
