Found out in last 5 mins on library PC yesterday that I too have had THREE payments taken (total 14.97!) from 18 - 23 Oct and this at a time when I have had NO online access granted for EIGHT full days; after paying for Unlimited Dial Up with F4 in Sept.

When theft is involved I find there is only one route to follow; so have given a very in depth statement to the Police referring to the dodgy 'HQ' (grubby looking estate agent at 9 Hale Lane Mill Hill NW7; with a plaque stating BISCIT!) and the many thefts reported on this site too.

Hopefully the law will finally catch up with the culprits behind this increasingly apparent scam. Suits for compensation should follow.

Now to look for another ISP!

Good luck to all other victims......DID Martin find anything out after all??
  • Hi All.
Almost all the money Biscit/v21 unlawfully took from my account over the last two years, £79.92 in total, has been credited back into my account. I am still in dispute with them over one £9.99 payment.
They seemed to move quickly once I managed to contact them.
Good luck to everyone else who is dealing with them.
    Russ.

Just out of interest, how did the police respond? I have a friend who's a cop and he just laughed at me when I mentioned I might report this theft. Having said that, I was in the middle of the mother of all rants at the time, so maybe he didn't think I was serious.

Also, just for info. I've spoken to my Daddy and asked him to email me and see what response he got. Well, he tried 3 times and each time he got kicked offline. Interesting. Anyone know why our ISP problems would kick a user with another ISP offline? (He's wanadoo, by the way. Not aware of any link between wanadoo and Biscit, is there one?)

Agreed, mentioned this in my letter when cancelling my contract. It's clear to me now that the reason Fast4 dropped their price to £4-99 was just to catch as many mugs as possible in preparation for this scam

Which ISP are people moving to? Don't want another experience like this. Must be prepared to pay more.

Can't understand why Martin is still recommending Fast4 as one of their best ISPs?

Better still register your own domain for a couple of pounds and you can then use the email addresses associated with that domain and keep them when you move to the next ISP

    Hi GuessWho

Any advice on registering your own domain please - like how does one get started etc etc. Please make it blonde-friendly too, if you can!! - am an ok user but not really up to speed technically.

For a theft to occur you have to prove dishonesty. If it is just that their billing system is crap then you will never prove a criminal offence.

I'm new to the internet and after visiting MSE joined Fast4 (I too think the drop from £7.99 to£4.99 was a ploy to hook people before it went pear shaped).
My experiences have been much the same as everyone else , from the original e-mail to no access (error691), unreturned calls from 0870 383 0030 ,at least 2 DD deductions in the last week.
Has any one had any luck from 0870 442 9600?
Just tried e-mail and lin2.biscit.net has appeared requesting password nothing works including qazwsx.
I cannot get online during the day so I rely on all you good people for tips and info in the evening.
At least I now know I am not alone in this mess.
Heres a tip-I am having to use tiscali paygo so connect via 18185.co.uk cost is 4p connection+0.5p/min so after 10 minutes is cheaper than BT 1p/min.
    Move along, nothing to see.

Still can't get my emails, either via Outlook or Webmail, but something interesting has just happened. I sent myself an email (to my speed-mail address) yesterday. It stayed in my outbox for ages, as I got the password box whenever I hit 'send/receive'. Just logged on again now though, and found it's gone. Checked my sent items and sure enough, it's there. Still can't receive, but it appears I can send again.......

Just sent an email from my hotmail account to my speed-mail and was bounced right back as delivery failure.

How does Hugh Paterson and his biscit brigade hope to keep customers after this whole fiasco.
His promise of the members area up and running on 30th Oct looks very doubtful to me.
Can any of these people tell the truth?
  • After joining the joke outfit Fast4/V21 on 27/9, I have found today that the following month's payment has not come out of my bank. Maybe this will occur in the following days? or maybe my pestering emails to cancel - which V21 have not responded to - have actually been implimented.
I have found this freephone number - 0800 089 21 21 on V21's website. If I have further problems I will torment V21 through this number and will demand written confirmation of membership canellation and a refund. I'm wondering if V21 then block my particular phone number to stop me getting through I'll continue to call them by not allowing them to see the number of the person whose calling. Can someone tell me if it's still the old method of pressing 141 before the main number.
I think if there is this free method of calling V21 then people should use it to annoy the company so much that they may be sorry for being so dishonest and disrespectful.
