Yes, that I remembered but my password is saved as ***** for security reasons and I can't access it!!
An alternative would be for Alared or someone who is still connected to send an email to them from member's area, quoting your Account No. and explaining the problem. I did this for someone back in the old days when we had a problem period. I would offer to do it myself but have left Fast 4 for Primus BB, Tee! Hee!.

But if you signed up @ £4.99, your contract should be honoured for 12 months.
It isn't a 12 month contract, just 2 months notice.

After the 2 hour severence, at midday today, could not log back on and this lasted til 1900! Tried at least every 15 mins and every time failed.

    Instead of the usual
"Error 691 Access was denied because the username and/or password was invalid on the domain"

which should state "no you DID log on correctly but we've too many customers for available resources"

    today's excuse was
"Error 718 The connection timed out waiting for a valid response from the remote computer"

The 0870 number had Auto Man saying something about "site maintenance" but don't recall any notice of this.

If others are still suffering is it time for CLASS ACTION!!

Personally am still on a permanent 28.8 kbps since the new freefone number change (previously 31.2 kbps) and BT said I am getting all the gain they can provide whilst F4 say it is definitely not their fault. Speed isn't a problem though; being able to connect when I want as Unlimited Customer is paramount. Missed loadsa ebay deals today....sob!

Any other Dial Up providers under £7??? Never thought I would say this but "Come back Tiscali....all is forgiven"...at least they never failed DU connection....just blundered every charge!

I knew I spoke too soon! I've haven't been able to connect at different times of the day also. So Joanne, you sound like you want to be our shop steward - Sister Anna waving the Banner. No seriously, it's very irritating especially if you've some vital transactions to conduct on e-bay. But we are only paying £4-99 so we must expect some downside for that price. You won't find anything else this cheap.

I thought that also, but in the member's area I see my contract is listed as "Annual". But then I now see they are inviting me to change to Direct Debit in spite of the fact that I am already on DD.

    Hmmm

And find NJP sent a totally unjustified threatening email yesterday.

    Any ideas???

I have never d/loaded anything except legit free software in years of being online. Even when I fancied streaming some music from My Space or viewing You Tube; it has never worked as Dial Up presumably too sluggish.

Never had such a threat before and don't they have to produce evidence? I emailed them back and surprise, surprise the Postmaster said "UNDELIVERABLE"!!!

Is this an underhand way of terminating the £4.99 contact customers?????

    From V21`s home page today:

Possible Scam - V21 Customers Should Ignore Fast4.net Messages
It has been brought to the attention of the new directors of V21 that from around the time the sale of V21 to Biscit was concluding there have been some questionable messages sent out to some of our V21 customers.

    We are investigating.

In the meantime, we strongly recommend that V21 customers ignore any messages and suggested actions they receive from a company called Fast4.net.

We will update this site with further information on the matter as it becomes available.

If you HAVE received such a message, please contact us with your details urgently, and we will get your original V21 service restored, by sending an email to support@biscit.net with your full name, contact telephone number and V21 customer id.

    Sincerely,

Very odd...... a fall-out amongst providers breeding ill-feeling and malicious emails???.

My "improper use" threatening message came from NJP.....does that fit the pattern.

No way of finding out further for us F4 'prisoners' as any attempt to contact OUR Member site produces this:

    "14th October 2006 17:45

The Fast4 website is currently offline due to technical difficulties.

We have managed to restore all users ability to connect to the Internet but we are still working on restoring the remaining services including access to your email.

We would like to aplogise for the obvious inconvenience that this will be causing and can assure you that we are working to bring all services back into full service as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience.

Our Customer Service and Technical Support teams will be ready to answer your calls if required from 9AM on Monday 16th October on 0870 225 1055. Calls charged at national rate."

So you cannot even waste your money phoning their 'premium' (NOT national) rate to ask for advice til tomorrow.

Connected today but no sites loading for 15 mins....then 'normal' service resumed.

    Hope others having better luck.
