Not sure whats happening with me.
I tried the old number and new........both times access denied
I should add that nothings changed here at my end and I am pretty
    au fait with dialup anyway.
I called customer services this am.and he advised tech.support
which I called ,but still denied access.
I phoned again customer support and he said try again in 30mins.
Again no luck on dial up.Nor can I access members area.
I phoned customer service around 11am.........and they seem to have shut up shop and gone home for the day.

Hi, thank you very much indeed for your help Alared, well I changed last night to direct debit very easily. I thought I would mention to you the first class service I have had today. Firstly I had a reply to an e mail I sent them telling them that I did not know I was capped and what did that mean, the chap on the phone when I signed up to bb did not tell me that, (I should have known I suppose if I had read everything properly!) anyway they replied this morning saying the 167 hours plan unlimited was for my dial up, when I go bb (any day now) I will have two gigabytes for my £11.99 a month.

I have telephoned 08704429600 the v21 customer support number and was very impressed with the first class help they gave me and did not keep me waiting either, the lady I spoke with explained to me what two gigabytes is, (so ignorant am I) if I download a lot of films, songs etc, it would use up quickly, but for normal use like I do, ie browsing, e mails, on here, etc., plenty to go at, if I go over the two gigabytes they would add £2 to my months fee,and this would give me the equivalent of another 500 songs appox) So it should be enough for me and as I will not be tied to using their phones, I do 1899, all should be OK

This morning I have been cut off on my phone twice speaking to somebody, and then next time I picked up the phone got messages from BT testing etc, so looks like they are doing my connection today, however, the modem has not arrived yet, so spoke with another department at V21, a very polite and efficient young man said it had been despatched on the 9 October, and should be with me today or tomorrow.

All very efficient , polite, and very helpful and did not make me feel at all looked down upon, if you know what I mean.

Will keep you posted as to how the bb connection goes on.

The only criticism I would have was that the original chap I spoke with at Fast 4 as it was then did not tell me it was capped.

Best wishes,, sorry this is a bit long. But I hope you will find it informative especially if anyone is thinking of changing over.

    Best regards oap

ps modem just arrived, now the fun starts!!

I would recommend that you download a small program called NetMeter. This will enable you to easily monitor your exact usage, so that you don't go over and have to pay more.

Hmmm - yes that looks very ominous. I've noticed that they haven't reset the week's usage back to nought as they normally do on a Sunday night. I'm wondering if they'll let us carry on until we get to max 168 (24x7), and then pull the plug - unless we agree to £7-99.

    Just a thought

Log-in to the members area and click on your account and there should be a link to change your payment method.
Obviously you`ll need to tell them your bank, sort code and account number, for them to take the payment.

Don`t worry, DD is perfectly safe and is guaranteed by all the banks.

If you keep paying by credit card, there`s no way to stop the payments even if they ignor your request to cancel your account.

Beware OAP I like many others it seems on this thread have fallen prey to their problems of taking to many payments, I am still waiting to hear back from them ref this, last year over 9 months they took 11 payments and so far this year over the last 9 months they have taken 12 payments - perhaps DD is not such a good idea???
