Well dam it, as you will see from my previous posts on here I am right in the middle of moving my dial up at £4.99 with Fast 4 to broadband at £11.99 per month.
I am sitting here having thought about it for many months, and when I do it the b...y company changes. Yes Alared I have got the Dear V21 customer V21 and Biscit are now one, who the heck are Biscit? Never heard of them.

So within a fortnight I have gone from being on Fast 4, dial up, been moved to V21 for broadband, and now I am with Biscit. I have not had any e mails from anyone about new dial up numbers, and am still using my fast 4 or V21 (who knows ) which I am on at this very minute having had no problems connecting!!!

I also got an e mail from new signups, saying the installation of my adsl line is progressing. and giving my new adsl username which is my usual one (which I have had with fast 4) but @V21 .co.uk on the end. Password remains the same. If I want further information to dial 0870 442 9600.

This is really weird, and I wonder having been made to sign up for one year, with Fast 4 or V21,at £11.98 a month, whether the new company will try and increase it, if they did, I could not afford it, where does that leave the contract, can one cancel if they increase it more than what I originally signed up to, feeling quite worried now.

I know this is a Fast 4 thread,, but know you are probably interested in what happens when you move from dial up to broadband, if ever you do!!!!

Crumbs, what a carry on best regards oap

I think you lot should now ditch Fast 4/V.21 and go to Primus --- Free connection & modem, free evening & week-end calls to 01/02 numbers, and all for around £10 per month (over 15 months). 1Mb speed unlimited BROADBAND !!![/I have never been happier with the service ( and freefone for customer services.) Can confirm Alared's comments and was with Fast 4 dial-up for 3 .5 years and we had a similar thread called FAST 4 CONNECTION DIARY

Hi, do you have to get rid of BT for this service? regards oap
  • I just checked Martin's article as I thought Biscit had been mentioned but I can't find it now. Checked ADSL and found this discussion area.

The Alternative ‘Phone With Broadband’ Option.
Biscit.net* jumped on the bandwagon quickly after TalkTalk’s launch. It offers a similar 18 month service, costing £20/month for six months then £21.75. It’s good for those who can’t get TalkTalk, but loses out to it as it’s a 2GB rather than 40GB broadband allowance, has less free UK and no international calls. It’s likely other players will wade in to marginally undercut both soon, however I suspect the extra savings won’t be huge, so it’s not likely to be worth waiting.

Once again I would advise anyone with F4,V21 or Biscit to get your payments onto Direct Debit and if there`s any funny business later on, you can easily cancel.
All these ISP`s make it very simple to sign up with freefone numbers but to try and contact them via 0870 when there is a problem is almost impossible.

If you are still using your old dial-up number and still getting connected, then leave things alone.(keep watching this thread)

I will await any moves by Biscit/V21 as regards moving my account,in the email it said all V21 accounts would be moved to Biscit over the coming months.
As far as I`m concerned what`s happened these last two weeks is all bad news and can only mean a big price rise or being forced onto BB.
If the worse comes to the worse I think the good advice above by THELOFT may well be worth following:

NO! You retain your BT line and can still use Pre-Select Carriers for mobile or International clls etc. and national calls during the day (I use 1899). Of course in the evenings and week-ends all national calls to 01/02 numbers are free.

Just had a look at the Primus website. I can't find any pricing structure mentioned anywhere, and they ask you to phone up. I find this very suspicious.

I don't want to tempt fate, but I've had no problems (yet) connecting to the new Fast4 number. Fingers well and truly crossed!!
