i believe most of V21 is dialup though - so who knows, this could be their dialup division now....

oh, and have any other fast4 users received what alared posted above - as this would be interesting to know also

I've not received any e-mail that quotes V.21 or Biscit. It looks like they are splitting the company in two, and that Fast4 is now a stand alone operation.

I've got my e-mail going now, but still can't get the newsgroups working. Sent them a message via the secure members area

Hi All.
Until last night when I looked at the the Fast4 webite I was none the wiser about all these changes. (there is a little mention of it at the bottom of their Front Page)

Anyhow, in brief it mentions the new dial up number and a couple of other setting alterations for V21 including having to change my email address, plus also a piece saying about an email I had been sent.

Although this notice speaks generally to all their customers I have not received any email from them.
From there I tried to access my members area on the Fast4 site but my access was denied, BUT.....I can get into it from the V21 site using my Fast4 email address !!???

Having as yet made no alterations I am sitting here wondering what to do.
Do I sit tight because I didn't receive the email in the first place or do I change all my settings as mentioned in their customer notice.

In hindsight I may take the first option because in the customer notice it says the old dial up number ending in 025 would cease to work as of 8th October, and at the moment some 24 hours later it's still working.

Thanks for the reply alared.
I have just sent V21 an email via the members area asking what to do. Something else mentioned in the customer notice is that my speed-mail email account would be deleted within 4 weeks

Alared - yes I am still logging on to the Fast4 member's area. I tried doing the same on that link you posted to the V21 website, but it didn't like me. I think this is because I am on the new number.

I think I am regarded as a Fast4 customer because I have only been with them a couple of months. It seems as though all the older customers are with V21. I dunno; there doesn't seem much logic to it to me!

I received the email but as it went into my spam file I deleted it before I read it!!! am hoping there was not any instructions for me to change anything?!?!

I think you lot should now ditch Fast 4/V.21 and go to Primus --- Free connection & modem, free evening & week-end calls to 01/02 numbers, and all for around £10 per month (over 15 months). 1Mb speed unlimited BROADBAND !!![/I have never been happier with the service ( and freefone for customer services.) Can confirm Alared's comments and was with Fast 4 dial-up for 3 .5 years and we had a similar thread called FAST 4 CONNECTION DIARY
