Oh well...the changes have already manifested themselves!

I altered my freefone number last night, as instructed, and since 2100 was only allowed on one hour before the auto cut off! That's an hour less than before and even Tiscali allowed 2 hours for anytime use! ONE hour at a time???!!!

Today is the same so far.

How can you listen to a streamed BBC Drama when you get terminated after 60 mins? Most music radio programmes last longer than 1 hour and that is what I use the system for mostly. Even the connection rate dropped to 28 kbps (though it is back to the massive 31.2 now).

AND connection problems after 2100 (average 8 attempts to get back online and even then no pages loading).

One way to scare off the Dial Up Users (DUUs or is it now DOHs!!!??) who were attracted to the original offer? Least I got 1 week out of them trouble free (but for £5 is that value?)

One oddity: if it ain't Fast4 any longer how come the new email addresses end in @fast4.net? NOT v21???

What is your new dial up number and the cut off time should be two hours not after 60 minutes.

Tried to reply Alared......... but got cut off!!!!!! Once again after just 60 mins.

This is NOT the advertised deal (which is still repeated in the Switch Of Ownership bumpf emails they sent out yesterday) and such a pain I will have to reconsider who to now go with.

Would seek answers re the F4 Contact link but they have lately taken to sending out auto responses which do not tackle the queries raised.

BUT I shan't go without a fight.......Watchdog and CISAS and OFFCOM will have to be hassled.....again.

    Hope you having better luck.

V21 aren't Tiscali are they?? This treatment seems very familiar......

Oh good heavens I hope they are not Tiscali, will askthem next time I contact them. I know I am old, well 70, and probably not as wise as you folk, but you know I signed up tothe broadband (not got it yet, waiting for BT) on the phone, after reading the V21 website, it said £9.98 first month for all, then from £11.99. I thought it was unlimited, but it is capped, to I think 167 hours, I presume this is monthly. As I do not download music or anything and use the internet for e mails and general noseing around and information, it does not matter, but I have contacted V21 again to say their pages are not easy to follow, I saw free connection and free modem, I asked them this yesterday and to be fair they are answering all my questions by return, they said that was only for the others, not the £11.99 one, but they had given me ten pounds off BT connection as I was a loyal customerr!!and a free modem.

What I did not do was click on the red circle, which is the £11.99 one, the others are blue. Just took it all at face value and the chap I signed up with never mentioned, probably he thought I knew it was capped. I MUST READ ADVERTISEMENTS MORE CAREFULLY IN FUTURE, I have signed up for a year, I had to, but quite honestly cannot find anything less on the market at present. Pipex was cheaper but you had to have the phone as well, as I use 1899 no point doing that.

Keep on posting everyone, its the only way we can find out what is going on, I do not know whether it is because I have signed up now to bb, but I have not had an e mail saying they are changing the company name or anything like that.

    Regards oap

In my post #24 I posted the email I received from F4,it said there would be no change to my dial-up number or email address.
The only changes you need to note are that the customer services telephone
    number is now 0870 442 9600

I have found no problems in the last two days, either getting connected or getting cut off, except after the usual TWO hour period.
    Hopefully everything`s back to "normal"

Well all in all, things seem to be going well today. No (well few) connection problems. Was able to set up my new connection number - and connected! New e-mail address set up, but not tested yet. Only complaint is that the connection to the newsgroups didn't work, but that might come right tomorrow (d-day).

This changeover seems rushed on us. Hope everyone else managing ok

What`s your new number because mine never changed.
Maybe there`s now two different dial-up numbers to take pressure off the system.

Hi alared - my new number is 0808 99 16234, but I think I spoke too soon about having a good day. I've just tried to log in and it seems to verify the username and password twice each time. One time it went into a loop during login. Maybe it's something I've done wrong in setting up the new connection.

Other changes were e-mail outgoing becomes smtp.fast4.net. Just realised that you can't keep your old number alared cos my e-mail says "The old access number ending in 025 (08089933025) will cease to work on Sunday 8th October 2006". Is this your connection number?

Gotta feeling there are gonna be many teething problems.

    Hi all,

I just tried to log-in my member panel via https://www.fast4.net to watch out their news/update on change of number, if any.

Sadly to say that I was unable to log-in, although internet connection via 0808-9933025 is pretty OK tonight (46.6Kpbs rate). Attempted several times, made sure info correct all the time, and received "ACCESS DENIED: Invalid login details". Hmm, seems they are closing this server as well?

Tried again with https://www.v21.co.uk but could not find Member tab anywhere. Few days ago, I got through sucessfully with v21 website, using the same User ID and password as when I logged-in fast4 website.

Something more seriously happend to them? I was so concerned that I had received no message from them about number change. Have noted down new number provided by Geoffo M and will try if my current 0808-9933025 dies tomorrow.
