V21 is fast4 parent company0

Makes you wonder if all this recent bad connections may be designed to get people to switch to their BB.0
-
Another reason for the recent upheavel with bad connections could be the email I received this am from F4
"Fast4.net is now pleased to announce that your account has now been moved

Yes you are probably right, it did put the thought in my head that I was fed up with messing around and it was slow last weekend and last week!!
I thought you may be interested to know that yesterday they said they had successfully collected my money, and today I had another e mail saying they had successfully collected my money on a different invoice number, hmmm, I have e mailed them on the members area, and told them to sort it out and if they have charged twice to my credit card, to sort it immediately, will keep you posted!! regards oap0 -
Down again tonight - Wednesday 4th October. Couldn't connect from 17:00 until 22:00. This is becoming very frequent now and very irritating.0

Is that broadband or dial up Geoff? OK here tonight. Regards oap0

Same here. However, their sites https://www.v21.co.uk and https://www.fast4.net were both accessible at that time.
What are they doing restricting access to their sites only?0 -

You`re quite right.
Although "connected" between 6-7pm last night,I couldn`t get any other sites up except theirs.
It seems to me they are switching everyone to V21 and will eventually close F4 altogether, doing away with the £4-99 a month rate to new customers.
If you go to V21 THIS DEAL IS NOT AVAILABLE.
I still think the idea is to get everyone to switch to BB by *issing them off with dial-up.
Looks like the days of cheap dial-up are coming to an end!0 -
Hi oap, I am on dial-up. I've only been with them for little over a month. I hope alared isn't right that they are trying to force everyone over to BB0

Good old MSE; I should have come straight here instead of fiddling with my PC settings and ZA (what risks have I run?)
Joined Fast4 after Tiscali booted me out but despite latter ,messing bills and having useless 'support' they NEVER prevented connection.
Had 1 week of fine Fast4 service then the problems described above began and right up to last night (4/10).
The oddest aspect for me (as PC dunce) was when I COULD connect I couldn't load a single page!
The F4 support, via their Contact option takes days for reply and then the same operator ignores the questions or is unhelpfully vague.
Ditto their 'status' fails to describe these crippling problems but does include other failures.
Disappointed and if we new customers are to be dumped onto V21 then more moving anticpated.
The £4.99 deal isn't that great really....you only get 31kbps and get cut off every 2 hours which unless you log on at the hour, is forgotten; usually when completing an online transaction (deadly!) and ebay bidding is thwarted.
Threatening users for logging on straight after cut off is against their stated contract of UNLIMITED use [168 hrs pw allowance] so should be challenged.0
