  • Glad I looked here, I too thought at first it was a problem with my computer and changed the firewall, anti viral ect.. but am having the same problems as everyone else, I have had a dial up & kick off problem for a few weeks now but can't access the members site as I can't for the life of me remember my password!!! think I am going to have to change to broadboad with another co at this rate, it's killing my ebay bidding chances!

Well, previous complaints excepted, had Thurs 5/10 connection/page d/loading fine for day and eve.

Just got the "DETAILS NOT RECOGNISED ON THE DOMAIN" message (really should say; OI! We told you we only had 15:1 contention so you are in a queue and your details HAVE been entered correctly but we didn't want to admit we have too many users) arriving near midnight; which was a useful reminder for me to GO TO BED!

Today 6/10 so far so good.

    RE my comment re "logging on the hour" that is my helpful hint for them who do not wish to have their online transactions thwarted by being auto cut off by F4;

ie if it is near to the hour then do not attempt ebay bidding/purchases of any kind. Once the hour has passed you know you are ok for at least another hour so shopaway!

You could always set up some PC/online timer reminder I guess....but that is far too technical for a dumbstress such as I.

I`ve been with F4 for over three years and when I first joined the service was absolutely horrendous.
If you think the last two weeks have been bad,"you aint seen nothing yet"if it ever returned to them days.
The last two years, until two weeks ago, have been more or less incident free as regards bad connections and getting cut off.
No matter what time of the hour you connect up,you still get cut off after two hours.(it does say so in their T&C`s)
It is then up to you to re-connect again, either straight away or later on.
In my first year the service was so bad that I and a few original F4 members used to use auto-dialers,set to keep re-dialing until a connection was finally established, sometimes after 50 (yes I did say FIFTY)attempts.
You could set your dialer and then go to the supermarket and by the time you got back you might have got a connection.
So the few hiccups in the last two weeks are hardly worth bothering about.
Hopefully F4 and V21 have now got things back on track but I still believe they want us all on BB.
  • My friend just got there computer up and running ok and phone line installed.
asked me for some cheap dial up so i suggested fast4.net but they cannot get the page to load to sign up,neither can i and i am BB with freeola.

Is there a longterm problem or is this a technical hitch that is likely to be resolved soon ??? any replies would be a great help.

    Regards

    Hello Crystal

I have just tried unsuccessfully to access the F4 site via google and only routed to them via the Speed-mail site.

I found 2 emails issued 1820 confirming what earlier posters said; F4 has gone to V21 (or vice versa?) and the freefone number and email settings are to change with a deadline of Sunday 8th Oct; so don't delay!

Plus the speed-mail service is being swapped for a F4 one so all email accounts need to be [re]created.

Bit of a shock for us who have just joined but the offer of Unlimited for £4.99 still seems to be holding (as it should, being contractual) so maybe the recent connecting problems are a reflection of the upheavals at HQ.

Still; am online now so that is all I am after.

Cannot think how to get F4 site for your chum Crystal but this is given as the latest address:

    http://www.fast4.net/

    Good luck!

Now then, after checking I noticed I have also been charged too many times!!! will be complaining about that but I also wanted to check, how long has the £4.99 offer been avaliable and as an existing customer should I of been informed or was it for new sign ups only as I have been paying £6.99 since April last year.

You should only be paying £4.99 , I noticed this on their website and telephoned them and then they altered it, so telephone them, or contact them on members panel. Regards oap

have to say, that by shutting fast4 down - it's either short term thing until they get more ports for their dialup users, or, it is just a good way of removing the unlimited option so that no one in the future can get it

You could try to sign up via this freefone number that was working `til the beginning of this week.
You will need to make up a username and password.
    0800 089 0076 monday to friday 9-5

Of course this could by now be shut down and the cheap dial-up finished and that`s the reason for transferring everyone to V21.
