Hi, I have been recieving the same error message for two days now - no emails sending or recieving, what do I do next ? Am I stuck with the 50p per minute technical help line as my only option ?
Bigted and Singleton.
Why bother with the email provided by the ISP?
As o_t_e says, get a googlemail or yahoo account. I know you will have to tell everyone that you've changed addresses but it's a more permanent email set-up.
If there is still anyone who wants a gmail account, please send me a PM with an emailaddress and I'll send you an invite.0 -
Hi fellow v12/biscit/speed-mail users,
Have been getting the same e-mail error codes for two days but my other e-mail address is getting messages through. I knew this page would get me up to speed on what's happening, however I didn't know things were so bad!!
Am now looking for an alternative ISP, don't want the bigboys though as at least with Fast4 and v12 I didn't get spam!
Good luck to all,
Clock
P.S. At least they haven't taken money from me for 4 months!!0 -
Glad I thought to look on this site. I've also been thinking I just had an email problem for the last few days. I had no idea Biscit were in trouble again. Now I'm worried as I won't be able to access some important emails I was expecting. Have contacted Support but I can see that was a waste of time! I rekon it's time for me to bite the bullet and switch to Broadband and hopefully solve my ISP problems once and for all.0

My mother has/had a fast4 dial up account (she has no idea what service provider she is with!!!) and has a direct debit paying £4:99 a month to isp sub net . The last debit was on Jan 3rd 2007 and Nov before that!
Her email no longer works nor can she log in to the members portal but her connection is 45.4 not sure what speed that is! She says it’s the fastest it’s been and connects first time! She mailed them when her email was working (she had a speed mail account) but she has never had a response. Fast4 has disappeared from her direct debit list in her bank account.
If she gets another provider can she forget about fast4 or whatever they are called? Or will they have the cheek to reappear asking for back payments?Spread your wings and take flight0 -
The same thing here! Fast4 (Which became V21, which became Biscit) haven't taken any Direct Debits from me since November. They can get lost now as far as I'm concerned and I wouldn't think they'd have the cheek to try and collect back payments. They should have taken them when they were due. I have now cancelled my D/D just to be on the safe side. It is annoying that the connection service is better now than it's been in ages (I've been with them for two and half years). And apart from losing my email again, it's been quite reliable this last couple of months.
Does anyone know why the Web based Speed-mail cannot be accessed either?0 -
Hi all I have just discovered this:
This statement only covers those who are ex-V21/Biscit customers using the MAXSURF login.
Quote:
EurISP would be happy to take calls from BISCit/V21 customers that take
service indirectly via ourselves (MAXSURF). These customers would only be
ex-V21 and not any of the c6000 affected customers that took service
directly from BISCit Internet.
EurISP can only take calls regarding connection problems and perform line
tests etc, i.e. as you state, emergency cover.
We cannot discuss any billing or contractual issues with customers.
Additionally, at this present moment in time, EurISP is not in any position
to issue Mac Codes to ex-V21 users.
We are currently reviewing the situation and are talking with a number of
partners that may be in a position to service the requirements of these
ex-V21 users.
Until a decision has been made, EurISP will continue to provide Internet
Services, at its own cost, to these affected ex-V21 customers.
V21 Customers should contact us on 0871 220 1233, however, please bear with
us as calls may be unanswered or delayed as EurISP is predominantly a
wholesaler and not geared up with a large call center.
If I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Regards,
Tim Longton
Chief Executive
So it looks like I am covered for the time being, I hope this helps other people out too. I also am unsure why I can still send emails from the speed-mail.co.uk account yet not receive them.0 -
Hi, I haven’t bothered with the net since the weekend so I’m catching up.So the situation is, we're still in the sh*t.
Yep, that seems to just about sum it all up. I’m sorry for all those experiencing pain over this but it is so farcical it’s now funny. We may not ever have legally been Biscuit customers!!! And so the Biscuit administration cannot sell us to someone else!!! :wall: :rotfl: :wall:
Does anyone have a good word to say for the TalkTalk £20 for everything option?0 -
Blimey, just had a call from BBC watchdog wanting to know if we want to go in and talk about out experiences with V21 (or biscit)
she is going to call DH on his mobile, they are doing a programme about ISP's apparently0 -
It has been reported on ISPreview that BT Wholesale's tag on line department (0800 169 0934) is issuing MAC codes to Biscit customers (those who have the Biscit.net log-in) Some V21 @maxsurf login customers have also obtained MACs, however it seems they may not officially be available before tomorrow, possilby from Thus.
Please see this post :-

It also looks like V21/biscit Dial-up customers should be making alternate arrangements.0
