    Just a quick word

I've not heard back fromBiscit about my refund or cancellation, has anyone?

Ironically the service has been good for me here for the last 2/3 weeks, in fact the best since the fast4 days.
Connects first time (used to be 3 lost connections in first 5 mins, then OK) and I stay on as long as I need.
Also speeds are the best for months.
    Nix
I'm still watching the BB deals but with the launch of Virgin Media they seem to have dropped the Bundle 3 package.
    Move along, nothing to see.

    Troubled Provider Biscit Enters Administration
    By: MarkJ @ 6:18 PM - [Submit News | Link | Comments]
Reliable sources have informed us that troubled UK ISP Biscit Internet Ltd has gone into administration. ISPreview has seen documentation confirming the situation, which appears to have been formalised on 5th March 2007.

Mr Tony James Thompson has been appointed as the administrator. Unfortunately I've run out of time to post more this evening, although we expect to gain further information in due course.

Biscit has been at the centre of several court cases recently, not to mention numerous well documented consumer complaints over the past few months.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Who am I going to get my internet from now? 4 months free - I knew it was to good to last!

Can anyone recommend any alternative ISP's that are cheap and aren't too much trouble?

    Well Muff
My contingency plan is to go with http://www.fast4.net/index.asp

Although the dial-up is £7-99,it`s still the cheapest you can get for unlimited.

That's what I was considering - especially now their customer service appears to be quite good. I'm just wondering if there are any good line rental / broadband bundle offers? I'll be shelling out around £20 per month for telephone and internet and that's only for dial-up.

go back to page 60 (one back) and read post 1183,may be ok for you as it includes telephone calls.

    Infernal
    Thanks for the lastest info.

I was quite happy with Fast4,when out of the blue came an email saying we have successfully transferred you to our parent company V21.
Next day another email "Biscit and V21 are one", promising great service and and boasting what a great ISP they are.
    The rest is history
they are/were a bunch of chancers, who in my opinion have got their just desserts.
They are a load of %&*^"*)$!" barstewards, that have caused untold grieve and concern to a lot of people.
The link above takes you to the latest info in this fiasco, where the administrator says others are interested in buying Biscit.
Whoever is stupid enough to take them over (and someone will)
do they just think they can send everyone an email saying "we`re your new ISP and promise you the earth",and automatically think everybody should stay with them.

Really sorry to see that. Why are these take overs/mergers always bad news for the end user? Guess I was lucky to get in when I did. Bis*it pushed me to do it and I reckon that that is the ONLY favour they ever did for me!

Primus/Bethere were my joint 2nd choices but their packages were more expensive. Bethere weren't doing my exchange 'til June/July '07 and when I emailed Primus customer service, I never got a reply. Weird, especially considering the praise heaped on them from others! I'm apparently not alone in this experience. Guess you have to use Primus's freephone number when doing business with them...

Still keep an eye on this thread.

    Good luck all! ;)
