EVERY ISP has T&C`s that more or less covers things in their favour.

    If I could get cable
    I would.
NTL,now called Virgin Media assures me I can get cable in my area and indeed when I enter my postcode it confirms I can.
I ring them up and again I`m assured I can get it (been in the house from new for 20 years, can`t remember anyone digging up the road and putting in cable)
    OK I say,I`ll have 3 for £30,BB,TV,Phone.
Start to give details to set things up over the phone,a few questions later
sorry sir we`ve hit a problem
it appears you`ve not got cable in your area!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You would think they`ed know where their bl00dy cables were.

    When Biscit collapses
    I think I would go with F4 dial-up,even at £7-99.
Can`t think of anyone better or cheaper than that for unlimited.

People say for a couple of quid more you can get BB
    WHERE (unlimited)?

If you're going to make a statement like that then it would be helpful to provide a link giving more info.

The only link i have is this one, perhaps there are more?

I listened to the show "You and yours" on Radio4, here's the link

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/youandyours/

once there look out for the "Listen Again" section down the right hand side of the page.

I take it that you`ve now managed to set up your DD.

When i get to the listen again page
what story do I then click onto?

I can't get on to it either. I've tried both versions of my username, (even though I'm not sure that I ever was a V21 customer!). I was transfered from Fast4.

I haven't received any invoices, and I haven't paid anything since November.

Although I find it hilarious being on the web for nothing, I also worry about them hitting me with a bill that I won't be able to pay!

Maybe, but you need to be aware of the ones that could cause nasty surprises ;)

Truth is, you won't at that price. It will probably be along the lines of Orange or Tiscali *unlimited* which comes with a Fup (Fair Use Policy).

But to be more realistic, why would you need truly unlimited?
You can't really compare unlimited dialup to unlimited broadband.
With your unlimited dialup package, you are probably well under 3GB/month

Probably the closest to it, since you don't have options like LLu, cable or BE, are the Entanet resellers with their huge offpeak download allowances, but obviously costing more.
Everyone has been piling in on those recently and they are beginning to feel the strain, as i suggested they would in an earlier post. But Entanet are doing the right thing and increasing capacity with extra BT Centrals.

The day of the *unlimited* packages appears to be over for the moment, even Zen applying a cap, albeit a very large one.
  • Thanks for the BBC link Ian, here's a more direct one
