The £9.99 which Biscit or whoever they are say they are due. Does this include free phone calls at weekends and 5p for up to an hour evenings? This was the deal with Freetalk who I was originally with. Anyone know where you can get an itemised list of phone calls on their website. I've e mailed them countless times and written recorded delivery but you guessed it. No response.0

I need some urgent advice about a bill I received from V21 on the 1st of Feb. I used the Fast4 service for a few years and then we got broadband with Sky in October 06, so no longer required the dialup service. It was around this time that the members console was locked and i tried everyday for weeks. I had subscribed to fast4 on a 6 monthly basis paying £39.99 and knew the next payment was due in January. As I couldn't access the member console to start the cancellation process, I sent a recorded delivery cancellation letter at the end of November thinking that 30 days notice would be adequate. I had no email or confirmation that cancellation was accepted, and assumed that my account was cancelled as i tried to access the members console where i got the message that my login was not valid. I subsequently cancelled the DD. Didn't receive any emails until i got this bill from v21 demanding £79.97 for 'Services for telephone' for the period of 15-01-07 to 15-03-07.
I haven't used their service since the end of last year ! I don't see how can pay 80 quid for a service that I cancelled via letter because their console was locked, gave 30 days notice as per their terms.
Please advise a confused moneysaving fan

Hello, I know fellow helpful friends on here have not much faith in Offcom but I really do think you should give them a ring and tell them what you have written here, it is just not good enough, I am glad I am well rid of Biscit. Regards oap0

You know only too well that they can take extra payments and there`s absolutely nothing you can do about it.
At least with a DD you can get your money back from your bank.
I too have been having trouble setting up my direct debit. I also notice that the form isn't secure which I'm slightly concerned about.
Anyway, I looked into Biscits 'Pay Now' option and it seems as though it is hosted by Protx. According to their website it says:Complete security: Your customers enter their card details on the Protx secure payment pages, so we take care of the transaction security for you. As you never see the card details, you are not responsible for keeping them secure.
So does this mean that Biscit shouldn't be able to take unauthorised payments from our credit/debit cards?0 -

What do you mean that the FORM is not secure?
You have to log-in to the members area (which is secure)to see any of your details.
They already have your bank details to set up a DD but they need your permission to set it up.
By clicking on the link,it accepts your DD request and then gives you the option to print the DD guarantee agreement.
Biscit then contacts your bank and they set up the DD.
Can`t see how it`s not secure.
If Biscit takes the wrong amount or takes too many payments you can claim them back from your bank.
Also, YOU can cancel a DD whenever YOU like and Biscit can`t get anymore of your money.
Far better than giving your credit card or debit card details, which you can`t stop.0 -

There is no padlock at the bottom of my screen as it's not over a secure (https://) connection. They already have your bank details to set up a DD but they need your permission to set it up.

Although I had a direct debit with them before, they are asking me to re-enter my bank details to set up a new DD.Far better than giving your credit card or debit card details, which you can`t stop.
My previous post was querying the fact that if a third-party company processed the card details, would this stop Biscit taking more payments as they never get to see the card details, unlike when they first took over V21?0 -
Could someone please confirm if I need to set up a new direct debit in response to the £9.99 invoice received or can I let the existing DD run. Also I can't find the FAQ page on the Biscit website saying I can cancel with immediate effect as posted by Gromit2. Could someone please post a link as I wish to send it with the cancellation form should I decide to cancel. It's almost the final straw so I want to be prepared.
Thanks in advance.0 -

You can`t set up a DD without giving your sort code and account number!
Infernal
If you had a DD with them (as I already had) you need to set up another one in the members area in response to the invoice.
The reason for this is something I found on another chat site.
Your original DD only allowed V21 to draw on the DD,not Biscit.
Now the money is being collected by Biscit they need you to set a DD for them.
You could of course make a payment through their secure server but if you read my last couple of posts I explain why I`m against that.
FOR THE VERY LAST TIME EVERYONE
PLAY SAFE AND USE DD0 -
Im keeping my finger crossed that I am able to submit my diret debit today, trouble is i keep getting page not found. Hopefully the missing php file, that seems to be causing the page errors will be restored to biscit's server soon.0
