    Good morning everyone,

Had another lie in this morning, which was lovely, mind you, did have to get up and sort out the HUGE spider she found in the sink (i just turned the tap on).
W've just had toast, and are watching Come Dancing that i taped last night, as we watched X Factor.
DS is being collected in an hour, to spend the day at my friends house, as DD and i are going to watch the Barbie movie (free tickets from this site!!!) Ive never had the free tickets before, so hoping all will be ok. Looking forward to spending time with just DD, as it doesnt happen very often.
Right, off to get dressed, have a good day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Morning everyone:hello:

OH is at work today  so I'm home with the 3 kids nagging them to do their hmwk. Have a mountain of shirts to iron. Might make some muffins for the lunch boxes.

Have butternut squash soup leftover for lunch with cheese and croutons to sprinkle on. Keema curry for supper with rice, and I thought I'd try a fruit cobbler using quinces - I shall have to cook some first and make sure there is some syrupy juice. I'll let you know how it turns out. I've got so many quinces, I'm never going to get through them, I think I might take them up to the farmshop and see if they'll buy them off me;)
  • Morning all!

It is FREEZING here so I'm all wrapped up to see how long I can last before putting the heating on. Will be toasty warm all afternoon though as plan a lot of baking and will also make a huge pot of potato dauphinois for supper and lunch tomorrow.

Other than that will do a quick bit of cleaning and a 2 loads of washing and not a lot else. Plan on having a completely lazy day in front of the tv watching old American detective dramas, drinking lots of tea and cuddling the cats - with trusty laptop by my side of course :D

Penny-Pincher - so glad you've made up with OH :)

(PS If any lives near a Sainsburys treat yourself to their magazine this month - there are some fantastic autumn & winter recipes in there inc lots of chocolate cake ones....)

It is the patches they did that to me when I tried them and was warned that side effects include feeling sick insomnia dreams/nightmares and headaches
but if you keep going with them it will get better apparently I am ashamed to admit that I gave up on them and as a result am still smoking

Wondering if it's to do with the patches  But, on that front, apart from getting an urge, a very strong :hello:urge, yesterday evening (deep breaths, counted to 10 sloooooooooooowly, rinsed my mouth with mouth wash) survived to tell the tale ;)

If it helps - I used to use a mantra. I'd say it out loud if nobody was around (don't want to look any more nutty than I already am :)) but otherwise would repeat it over and over in my head until the urge went. The basic idea is that you need to teach your addicted brain that you don't smoke any more.

So anyway, here is my mantra and perhaps you'd like to try your own version:-

"I don't smoke and that's the end of it!"

Three years on and I STILL sometimes find myself with the urge every now and then - but just a few reps of the mantra wash it all away.

    HTH :)

    Hello everybody,

Had a busy day today. Feeling a bit better today. When DGS was asleep this arv when up to help DH. Stayed up there for 3 hours & then come on back here to mow. As usual pushed myself but as DD was home to keep an eye on DGS I knew it would be next weekend until I got the chance again. With the hotter weather it needed doing.

XDIL is arriving tomorrow and we are off to enrol DGS into Daycare for 2 days per week. Think I will have an early night tonight. Didn't have the best sleep last night.

Good luck to those going to car boot sales. Hope you get some bargains. I loved going to them when we were over there. Nobody does them here.
(((((hugs)))))) to those who need them.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Good Morning all, well my happy neighbours must've roused themselves as Mrs. Happy Neighbour has launched into her daily scream at the two boys. Oh blissful Sunday!
DS came on a visit yesterday, and I'd phoned DD so although not as really busy as last week's family weekend, I feel at least we've all had contact.
Reading all your threads always inspires me, but I never write on here what I intend to do in case I while away the day without reaching my goals & it all turns out to be a (Kenneth Williams voice appropriate here) "HORRID FIB"

Anyway, I'll look back & see how much becomes a Horrid Fib, as here goes.

I will pick the apples from the Bramley tree.
I intend to pot up the geraniums ready for the frost, and pack them in DHs car to go to my school tommorrow (lots of lovely windowsills & DH don't like the smell of geraniums indoors.)
I declare I shall weedeth the planter in the front garden!
I will defrost the farm shop chicken parcels (wrapped in bacon) peel the appropriate veggies, not forgetting Pa in Laws Leeks, and make an apple crumble.
I will do the white towel wash and see it through to drying.
I will take CaleyTheDog for a walk in the park whereupon I shalt fill baskets with rosehips.
I will stay at home while DH visits recently paralysed friend in specialist hospital unit.... (he's taking Caleythedog to show him in the hospital garden.) and I shall build myself a rosehip syrup 30 cubits long and..... hang on, this is getting biblical, I thought the language was a bit offish.
Right, I'm off to doeth my deeds and make it not a BIG FIB

Love to all you hardworking (and inspiring) folk
