    I've been Money Tipped!
Not having a good day today, for some reason the symptoms are worse today, with numbness on one side of my face and in my left arm so I keep dropping things and have just broken my cafetiere (glass everywhere) :(

One positive thing - I made the panasonic bm banana bread - really easy and very yummy hot with butter on it! Thank you Thistledown for this recipe :T

Todays dinner will be leftover hm chicken and sweet potato soup followed by leftover moussaka, so very easy and I can go rest up without feeling guilty.

JackieO - so glad you found your passport!
Scuzz - Keeping my fingers crossed for you that everything turns out ok.
Shez - Glad all is ok with your boss now!

    Catz x

Morning everyone and happy birthday Squeaky

TL, could you post your quince vodka recipe here please? And for the puree,do you just boil the quinces with a little water? My husband bought me a Quince tree for my birthday last year. No quinces yet, but am gathering recipes in anticipation!

Making homemade Oxtail Soup at the moment. I haven't had oxtail soup since I was about 8 when my mum told me that it was made of tails. Reasonf or trying it now is that one of my Dutch friends sent me a Dutch seasonal cookbook, whch is English and Dutch, and she happened to mention that her favourite recipe was Ossenstaartsoep mit Madeira (Oxtail with madeira).

I did get a bit squeamish trying to brown the bits of tail, but I'm sure it'll taste lovely. Hope so, it takes 4 hours to cook!

OH is out mowing the grass while it is dry, so I might take the opportunity to sit out there afterwards with a glass of wine and a book.

    Have a good day everyone!

Sorry I'm a bit late but Happy Birthday Squeaky. Hope you've had a good 'un.
  • Happy Birthday Squeaky!!!!

Been really busy at work today but intend to revert to my proper OS self later by making sausage and mash for tea and some cauliflower and leek soup for tomorrow (and a loaf of Delia's goats cheese bread if I have the energy)

Someone in work has given me a big bag of quinces as well so will spend a bit of time on here later looking at recipes for jam or jelly. I hope they taste as good as they smell!! :D

Phew! You can get a serious case of RSI wandering down a thread tapping the thanks button! :)

Thanks everyone, and I hope I didn't miss anyone who wished me a happy birthday.

    <slurp> Just sipping a pre-prandial

Tea tonight is the last of my pheasant and bacon sausages from the farmer's market, with new potatoes and my most favourite peas of all... tinned marrowfat ones :) Then I'll probly make myself some buns loaded with sultanas for pud.

Sally finally caught and ate her mouse. I found the evidence in the middle of the bedroom floor after my lazy afternoon nap!

That's my kitchen beeper going, so catch you all later :)

Well I didn't post this morning, as we all slept in  Luckily I'd been organised earlier in the week and didn't have to iron anything or make any packed lunches - phew :D

Since I have got home I've washed up last night's dishes :o done 2 loads of ironing, made DD's tea - she's currently in the bath before we whizz round to Brownies for 6.00pm. I'm treating DH and I to a mid week bottle of wine whilst I'm out, then back to ironing the school uniforms that are currently washing, but should soon be drying

I'm sooo glad you found your passport JackieO, call it strange but after reading everyone's good wishes/ideas yesterday I had a funny feeling it would turn up :D

Anyway, better dash (((((hugs))))) to all
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Happy birthday Squeaky!

Some bad news first............. yet again, a vendor of a house has said that they realise that they don't want to move after all having accepted our offer. At least this time, we had not paid for surveys and searches like the last time!

Nothing else to report, but DH and I are resisting putting on the heating. We've changed the duvet on the bed from the "summer" one to "autumn", but other than that we don't really need to put any more layers on. :)

To keep us warm this evening, we've had chilli from one of my big cooking sessions. Very tasty. :D

Take care and I'll see you all later

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 5th October 2006. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

    Morning All,

Another absolutely awful night with the kids last night. I am not sending DS to preschool today as he has a really bad cough, don't know about DD1 yet as shes got the good sense to still be in bed.

DH has just left for work, hes got the next 3 days in Wales in site meetings.

Nothing remotely OS planned for today save for the hunting around of a cheaper home phone provider. Pipex seem to be costing me more and more despite not making many calls!!!

Righto, I'm off for a LARGE coffee, and maybe some toast with butter - SOD weight Watchers this week-I'm too tired.

Hope you all have a fabbo day,
