I got one ABS Coated with Soft Water Proof Rubber (NOKIA N8 BLACK SILICONE SKIN CASE +SCREEN PROTECTOR) from ebay for £2.69. The case is quite good and does not block the sound. Some drawbacks are that the slider switch is difficult to access ( so planning for load a lock application on the phone) and there is no access to the HDMI cable. I have not removed the original screen guard that came with the N8 so not sure about how good is the screen protector that came along with the case.
Just before the case arrived, I had unknowingly put my keys and the phone in the same pocket. After some time I realised that I may have scratched the phone,so hurriedly I checked it and was worried to see a golden colour residue (of the key) on the phones cover. I could not believe it when the residue just vanished with a simple wipe with a dry cloth. The phone was as good as new with no scratch marks left. It seems the phone has scratched the key rather than the other way round !!! Very impressed with the case.....

Regarding the 360 meter wifi access, they're simply trying to say, it wont have the same preferred access point set as your previous phone (Obviously) because it hasn't been used before, but you should be able to use wifi. There's no wifi around my flat so I haven't tried...

Got my first impressions survey last night. Make sure you're device is transmitting information as I didn't get mine until after they had fixed the problem with that.

anyone set up the voip? ive installed the plugin but i cannot get sipgate to work. i only have one way audio!! the settings look the same as in my 95 and that works fine, its driving me mental as to why its now working

I dont know about that but the skype app works beautifully

its not bad for first version of the firmware. interested to know what they do when the update arrives. downside so far is i've yet to notice a message arrive due to a weak vibrate (and not getting sipgate up and running is bugging me!!)

Still no survey, yeah been sending data everyday i've been checking.
Probably come soon I imagine.
Weak vibrate, think the email app needs some fine tuning but other than that suprising no errors, crashes or anything...

Is there a major difference in the quality of picture taken with the N8's camera if you leave the plastic cover on, or if you take it off????

I haven't taken off the plastic film that covers the camera yet, and if it doesn't make much difference to the picture quality, I'd rather not, so as to prevent dust getting into the camera area. Any advice??????

Used my N8 yesterday to take some video of a jazz band we had visit at school. Even though I was half way back in the hall, the picture quality was amazing, and the sound...WOW! All the other teachers are now very jealous of my phone and keep asking if they can borrow it for their lessons! Played it back on my 32" at home and it looks and sounds just as amazing!

I'm in shock.

Considering how bad the N97 was and also this being the first version of the OS, I've not had one crash, blip or any other problem in nearly two weeks of use.

Delighted with the phone.
