A & L migration to Santander

    Just tried to logon to mine and it's saying the same message that everyone else is getting :(

    Hi.......... Well now its just 1 MONTH and 1 day since everything was working OK with A&L.
    Today I can access all my account sections but on checking the DD's I see that one should have been paid out yesterday but hasn't so will have to get on to that tomorrow - ( am just about to go out for the rest of the day ) - previous DD's are not showing when they were last paid so will have to keep an eye on that.
    WHEN all IS working OK I shall be closing this account and migrating myself to a decent bank - one which cares.
    How can Santander get away with this sort of mess ?
    It's not as though its only me who has had trouble - must be 100's now. What can we do apart from complaining to the Ombudsman ( which I have done but will take weeks to get anywhere )

    I would dearly love to go back to the old Girobank or A&L what say you ?

    So's telephone (0800 056 6066) when I tried, it just said "Please note, we are currently updating our systems so limited information is available" then went onto ask for my customer ID and pin, then said the same except it said "Please hold while you're transferred to an advisor"

    I'm now able to log on and my accounts have all been transferred and the new sort code is being shown.

    I seem to be able to access everything OK, though I haven't logged in for ages (I only went to login so I can leave).

    One question: have they reduced the length of time you can see past statements? I can see back to December, but it claims there were no transactions in November (which is untrue). I failed to print some of these out :(

    Also the format of entries in my savings account looks rather odd, and I'm sure they've changed.

    All sort of working.

    All accounts on mine and OH's accounts are there. A few DDs duplicated with slightly different references plus all our linked savings accounts now have DD references. My one SO now has a payee name of "external payment"

    Also no transactions in Nov 09 and savings entries different format but seem ok cash wise.

    Made a £250 transfer to Tesco Savings. Balance gone down but no sign of it in Tesco account.

    I have just been a le to log in and I now have a Santander sort code, but in my direct debit list there are 2 for A&L:o
    Very confused now, going to have to ring them, I have a Premier savings account, you get 6% interest.
    So wondering if they have put that on a DD?
    Getting fed up with banks now....................

    I'm really looking forward to phoning Santander on Wednesday to close my account. (Last DD comes out on Tuesday.) :j
