A & L migration to Santander

I've just got in to ours and it's very slow - and that damned 'download our crappy software' reminder keeps popping up too! The online statement is harder to read now, and I moved to A&L from Abbey as we weren't happy - time to move on again methinks!:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

Even if the migration works and you get to the other side, things aren't good on the Santander side. I have a Santander credit card, and haven't been able to log in online for 19 days due to "technical difficulties" they've been having...0

Certainly over previous weekends when system transfers have been happening there has been no or slow access.
But, if my message from them (#92) is correct, then the migration of accounts should be completed this weekend and everybody will be happy tomorrow. However, I retain a healthy slice of scepicism and expect to have to chase them to sort out my continuing ' not available' account access problems.0 -

My account has not been migrated as yet. I tried to log in - entered my customer id and the following message appeared:-
Due to planned maintenance the Alliance & Leicester Internet Banking service will be unavailable over this weekend.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Does that mean that they are transferring my account now?

Check your tax status for those who don't pay tax. I don't pay tax and was registered with A&L as such. Since the changeover, they have me paying tax. I haven't yet phoned as there is little in the account and I'm considering closing it but there may be others similarly affected for whom it does matter.Herman - MP for all!0

another messed about customer here. Not sure just when my account was transferred as I havent logged in for about a week, but logged in yesterday to catch up on things and noticed that a direct debit that should have gone out over a week ago to pay my santander credit card hadnt been paid. I did get through quickly on the phone to a very impolite scouser who sounded like he had just got the job, he eventually put me through to somebody in credit cards who said they didnt know why it hadnt been paid. She has set it up again and said she would refund the £12 late fee!! How can a direct debit get cancelled like that and end up charging me fees? She assured me it wouldnt be marked on my credit record but I am not sure I believe her.
Looking at my other direct debits I cannot see any details of last payment dates/amounts so I hope they will all still get actioned correctly next month.0 -

Hi.......... Well now its just 1 MONTH and 1 day since everything was working OK with A&L.
Today I can access all my account sections but on checking the DD's I see that one should have been paid out yesterday but hasn't so will have to get on to that tomorrow - ( am just about to go out for the rest of the day ) - previous DD's are not showing when they were last paid so will have to keep an eye on that.
WHEN all IS working OK I shall be closing this account and migrating myself to a decent bank - one which cares.
How can Santander get away with this sort of mess ?
It's not as though its only me who has had trouble - must be 100's now. What can we do apart from complaining to the Ombudsman ( which I have done but will take weeks to get anywhere )
I would dearly love to go back to the old Girobank or A&L what say you ?
