  • Those type of cuddles are just the best. DD2 shared my bed last night and we were all warm and snuggly. Be strong and keep posting. I'm sure there are many of us wishing good things to come your way. There is always support here. X

    hi wendy

the "feeling safe" thing is exactly the same with me also.

all i can think about is:
    - who is going to fix the faulty elec socket in the kitchen
    - the front door lock is playing up n going to go anytime now
    - the bath tap is making an odd noise and is going to break
    - when it snows who is going to get the car off the drive for me

but at the end of the day things happen, and we do cope because we have to.
i did it all myself before he came along, and all he did was put things off and moan anyway.

now if i could only take my own advice....

    be strong hun xx

  • Sunflower, such good advice. I also understand how I wish I could take my own advice sometimes. It's all a learning curve for me too at the moment. It's just when you want a second opinion on things it's strange when there is no one else there. A lady of 97 told me last week that when she was on her own for the first time (although that was when her husband died) she started to discover her own personality for the first time, which is kind of like an awakening, but a strange and sometimes difficult experience when you have always put someone else first which is what I, and most other women have been doing for the last 16 years.

Im sure there is a line in the witches of eastwick film were jack nicolson's character says after the 3D's women blosoom, the 3 D's being death divorce and desertion. Its true my mum brought up her 4 kids and went to uni after desertion and eventually divorce.
  • Oh, I do hope so. But when I looked in the mirror this morning I certainly wasn't blossoming!
