Has anyone used those Green Wilko bags for 50p at Tesco, because they must be around 2 Tescos bags, they great bags for shopping and I use them when I go to Morrisons but I do have to shop at Tesco every other week. There far stronger than Tescos bag for life.
  • If your bill is under £1 you can't get a green point it seems. I knew you couldn't get a clubcard point but I checked about re-use a bag point and its a no.
It seems as if the tills can't take your clubcard details if you items come to less than £1 - Mr Tesco is not interested in you purchase data on transactions less than £1.

I went into the Halifax Tesco today and used 4 reusable bags (2 green asda ones, 1 cool bag and 1 fold up fabric bag) When the lady counted my bags she said "oh, they're big bags, i'll give you 2 green points each " so I got 8 points without even asking for them. Does anyone know what happens to these green points....do they just get added to the ordinary ones?
  • Would they object (and still give you the points) if you bring along and march out of the store with the Asda & Sainsbury bags you have brought in to reuse? :)

That has always irritated me - mainly because of their signs everywhere saying "Every little helps". Grrrrrr

Yep - The clubcard balance goes up and my receipt said something like - your total clubcard points to date are x and that includes x green points collected to date.

That sucks. It's very easy to spend less than £1 and still need a carrier bag or altrnative container for your shopping (e.g. if you buy a couple of Value loaves and a couple of tins of beans, packs of noodles etc, you can't really just stick them in your pockets!)

My DH uses Farmfoods bags, which are a bit bigger and stronger than Tesco's anyway. They've never commented on the use of bags from a different store. I remember my mother indignantly turning paid-for bags inside out when some shops started charging for carrier bags. She said she didn't see why she should pay for the privilege of displaying their advertising.

on the adverts they have a scrunched up asda bag, they have no probs using other bags, thats the whole point.

I grabbed a load of bags for my tesco shop yesterday without sorting. You know those piffling little bags that you get from HMV etc, there was a couplle of those in there. I put my meat in one, and a couple of yogs in another ( as they wouold with those pointles thin blue bags) and got a point for each of those. Not bad, I spent 20.00 yesterday and got 8 green points.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
