I reused 6 bags in Tesco today and whilst the checkout girl counted the bags and said that's 6 points there was only one shown on the receipt. I couldn't be bothered to query it though.
I wonder if Sainsburys will start doing a similar thing with Nectar points (or their old "penny back" scheme again) soon?student100 hasn't been a student since 2007...0 -

I agree with most of what you say in this thread, and Tesco clearly aren't running this promotion very well, but this:Lillibet wrote:The 1p value of the clubcard point they reward you with for not using their carrier is not going to outweigh the savings for having to manfacture the bags so they are in pocket0 -

Sainburys give you 1p back for every back you use. My mum takes here own bags in and she just says how many she has and they give 1p for each.
Waitrose are quite bad my mum went in they to do some shopping and had some Tesco's and Sainburys bags for life and the manager guy said shall I dispose of them for you and get you some waitrose ones . She said noCome on you Irons0 -
Yesterday I bought 3 packs of Living Salad ( 6 lettuces with roots and compost in each pack ) 2 tubs of ice-cream and a telephone adapter. I put 2 packs of living salad in one bag, 1 pack of living salad in another, the ice-cream in a 3rd bag and the adapter in my handbag. I asked the checkout assistant if I could have the extra points for using my own bags and she said, yes she had given me two points. I asked why not 3 as I had clearly used 3 and she told me the bags weren't full. So I took the ice-cream out of one of the bags and put the bag in my pocket and asked for help packing!!!
I came away with 6 extra points:rotfl: :TFool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.0 -
I've also had hit and miss points with my cashiers....I was told though that 1 bag is one point and you get 2 points for using a "bag for Life"..Never had it since though! Very bad training. Wheelbarrows, suitcases, boxes etc should be at least 5 each, IMHO0

I've used this scheme twice.
1st time managed to get all my stuff in one bag but was given 2 points don't know why.
Second time a was busy reusing bags and the checkout guy said I estimate 6 bags and was bang on.
Family member used bag for life and was given nothing - I've told them in future to make sure they get something.
I think the scheme is great especially as the 1 point is worth 4p when spent on deals.
I'm surprised they don't give for boxes when the advert feature wheelbarows and golf bags.
Our Tesco has bins outside for carrier bag recycling they always seem to be brimming so if I forget bags I may try getting some out of there!0 -
I thought Sainsburys had stopped the 1p cash for every reused bag.
Is it still going?0 -
Lillibet wrote:Blimey, it's not just me then! Here is my complaint, sent to customer services & CC'd to Terry Lehay (director) today :
Today I was with a friend who re-loaded over £80- worth of items from the check out straight back into her shopping trolley with the intention of packing them directly into her car boot, bag free. She was, rather rudely, told by the check out operator that this did not qualify for green points. She therefore made the check out operator wait for payment whilst she then re-packed all her shopping in to carrier bags to make a point. The people behind us in the queue actually applauded my friends' actions & all started grumbling that they aren't getting their green points.
Oh, Lillibet, I just loved your letter - especially your friend's reaction and the fact that the others in the queue applauded her. Wish I'd been there to see it! I'm so sick and tired of Tesco's attitude to customers.:rudolf: Always skip and eat your peas :rudolf:0 -

I stand corrected, apologies:o
Still no reply to the compalint yet:rolleyes:Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

It is on the hanging signs in very small print, but I didn't notice it until the staff member pointed it out.0
