As in...buy 20 items, put them into 20 bags, and get 20 points? :T

    **childish giggle**

I would so love to do that, but not brave enough!

Isn't that just the funniest thing.

We've got a delivery due on sunday.

We dont need the shopping - our 'carrier bag holder' is empty. :rotfl:

10 things from tesco = 10 carrier bags. DOH! How stoooooopid are they  :D

  • We've just laughed out loud at this thread. My DD and DS are off to uni soon and have set each other the challenge of who can get the most points by the 'one item = one bag' method. They are raiding my bag supply as I type!!

Went to Tesco yesterday, and bought enough stuff to fit into four of my reusable bags. After paying, I asked the cashier whether I had been given my green points, only to be told: 'Yes, here they are - 2 green points on your receipt'. Hmmmm... I was not very impressed, to say the least - why should I only be given 2 points, when I've used not 2, but 4 of my bags?. I find this whole thing of cashiers deciding how many points to give you/how many bags you've re-used very dubious. Perhaps they've been told not to give too many points, irrespective of the number of bags re-used?

P.S.: Maybe I should have complained at the Customer Service?:o

Hmmm, I went into Tesco the other day and grabbed 3 huge bananna boxes from the veg department as I went to the checkout. The shopping went through and DH dutifully packed said boxes (which mind you fit into the car far better and neater than bags) and i went to pay. As always I checked whether my "green points" had been added and they hadn't. I mentioned this to the C/O lady who told me the same old "it's only if you reuse a plastic bag" .

I politely stated to her that surely the points were for not using MORE plastic bags and using an alternative means. She looked thoughtful for a moment (and yes, I mean, finger on chin gazing at the ceiling! LOL!:T ) and told me I was right "Sorry about that, would you like some points then?" To which I replied, yes, thanks very much, I think thats the equivalent of about 10 bags don't you? And she agreed!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :T

I'd love someone to try the wheelbarrow thing, but I'd need to be there to see their faces!! I've not watched ads in a very long time, but I assume this is a latest ad for them pretending to care about the environment, but at a cost of publicity they don't want. Bless.

Anyway, if they did complain and asked you to leave they would have to admit false advertising which would be great to see. They want to sell more stuff, they don't care about anything but their profits.
