My recepts have shown green points awarded today, normal points awarded today and my previous clubcard balance and green points total from previous visits. I have also line in the items list saying 'Green Bags £0.00 x2.'julesangles wrote:my question is( because i have read all the small print)
it does not say you are going to get anything other than green points. i wonder if the new statements will just bung it all together so you get money from them, or are they going to give you a different kind of green award ticket that you can only use on certain things. if you understand me. my fear is it wont be given in a money form.
I didn't think they would be worth the same value as normal points but they way they talk about it in press releases they seem to be the same. In the green points press releases they always include a statement about clubcard points worth and make no differentiation about green points.Customers can redeem their Vouchers in store at face value or they can exchange them for Clubcard Deals Tokens and get four times their face value on a range of offers from days out to gym membership.0 -
MBN wrote:Went to Tesco yesterday, and bought enough stuff to fit into four of my reusable bags. After paying, I asked the cashier whether I had been given my green points, only to be told: 'Yes, here they are - 2 green points on your receipt'. Hmmmm... I was not very impressed, to say the least - why should I only be given 2 points, when I've used not 2, but 4 of my bags?. I find this whole thing of cashiers deciding how many points to give you/how many bags you've re-used very dubious.
Perhaps they've been told not to give too many points, irrespective of the number of bags re-used?
P.S.: Maybe I should have complained at the Customer Service?:o
I don't go to Tesco any more, but my DH takes old carrier bags every time, and has only ever got the green points when he's specifically asked.
I think anyone who's been refused points for using a container other than a bag should take a wheelbarrow (as in the TV ads) if they own or are able to borrow one.
Morrisons has no incentive for reusing bags or using alternatives, but their checkout assistants have an annoying habit of packing my stuff into bags uninvited, even though they must be able to see that I've brought my trolley. They also put heavy stuff and squishy stuff in the same bag, so I need to unpack it before I can pack it in my trolley. Even more annoyingly, sometimes they ask if I'd like help packing, then proceed to "help" me anyway after I've declined!0 -
I used Birmingham's Tesco Express yesterday. I had an over-shoulder bag and asked as nicely as I could if I could use that. It was for only 3 items and the lady said sure - she also said I could have 2 points for being polite!
I kept a carrier bag inside my badgjust incase. The confusion seems to be the in-store ads say you earn points for reusing a bag, not for not using a bag - and it really should be the latter if it's about saving the environment.
I like the scheme, it's made me think about my carrier bag use and that is a good thing. If we all made small differences to every day habits - like many Europeans already have - we really can make big changes to the world we live in.0 -
I have a large leather handbag which I use to stuff a few small purchases in. The last two times I have been in the Tesco Express they have given me the green points for using it without me having to ask.
I wonder why everywhere is so inconsistent?0 -
I have been taking my big blue ikea bags to tescos with me as they 'are the equivalent to 5 carrier bags', so 5 pts you might think...no. tried saying this to the checkout girl and she laughed at me, saying 'I ain't giving you 5 points for that, you're lucky I am gonna give you any at all, I don't usually bovver giving the pioints to people, I think they're a waste of time.'
I now get 5 cos the supervisor regularly goes Ikea and she knows that I am not fibbing!Proud to be me, proud to be who I am!!0 -
another trip to Tescos with my own bags and again resulted in another trip to Customer Services - yes I know it was only for 1 point but that is not the point - as I pointed out to my son! (Even threatened to bring in Hubby's wheelbarrow if the situation didn't improve!)
This time I mentioned to the guy serving me that I was fed up of having to go to Customer Services to get my green points, even though I make a point of telling the cashier I'm reusing bags.
Apparently I'm (or should that be we?) are not the only ones who are complaining and the newsletter for staff in my store get is going to emphasis the fact that people should be getting their green points.
So all I can say is complain, complain and complain - would even go as far as writing one of those customer feedback forms and perhaps, eventually, all Tesco staff will get the message!2014 Target;

I was OK and it was straightforward when I went to Tesco this week but wonder if they could argue whether you have filled the bag enough. I have my method of packing and like to fill it but some petty bullying assistant could be nasty about it.An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T

Thanks. If there are cashiers like that I will make more of an effort in future to check the assistant will put the points on.
Could she be bothered to swipe your clubcard or doesn't see the the point of that either.0 -

Dear Mrs Evans.
Thank you for your patience whilst I dealt with this issue of Green Clubcard
Points allocation at our East Molesley Metro and Hurst Park Stores. Please
accept my sincere apologies that these points were not given to you as you used
your pram to tranport the shopping and not a carrier bag.
We've trained all our checkout staff so that they know the procedure, but
sometimes they can make a mistake.
I?ve called the both of the stores and spoken with the Duty Managers about this.
We will also remind our cashiers about Green Clubcard Points. We will ensure
that we do our best to stop this from happening again.
I have also added the 30 Green Clubcard Points to your Clubcard for you.
Unfortunately, these will not show as Green Clubcard Points on your statement
due to the fact that these have been added by us and not at the time of your
transaction.
Thank you for taking the time and trouble to let us know and, once again, please
accept my sincere apologies.
If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us at
customer.service@tesco.co.uk quoting *edited out*
Kind Regards
Sue Shearer
I did get my point in one of the stores today so maybe there has been an improvment?
I like Mountain of Debt's suggestion of using the customer feedback forms instore if you don't get your points,
saves queueing at CS & you can always include your clubcard no in the hope of getting the points added.Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
