 I have to say I'm gobsmacked

My Tesco shop has just been delivered.

I spent £70 so thats a fair amount of shopping.

There were only 5 carrier bags used. They were full to bursting with all the little things. Even my peppers were loose in a carrier bag and not in a plastic bag inside a carrier bag as usual.

Anything that was big was not even in a bag - just loose in the blue boxes (bread, crisps, potatoes, melons etc).

    Gobsmacked!

So, my carrier bag holder is still empty :o:rolleyes: :rotfl:
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...
  • Was in Tesco the other evening with a friend who had her new Tickled Pink shopper from Asda, 70p, and she was given 2 points for the size of shopping she packed into it.

Very pleasant sales assistant who explained the system :)

Pleasant? I had a grumpy wrinkled old granny at the till today and when I tried to 'break the ice' (I don't normally chat them up :p) by asking how many points per wheelbarrow she just frowned at me. Next time I'll just smash a slab of ice over their heads I think :D

They want to get a coherent policy, or is this going to be like the whole coupon policy where each store makes their own mind up... :naughty:

Ummm, edinburghlass, totally off topic but why do you want to 'go back' to wales?? :rotfl: I thought most people run as fast as they can :rotfl: :p

Blimey, it's not just me then! Here is my complaint, sent to customer services & CC'd to Terry Lehay (director) today :
    well done Lillibet :T
    we should all mail them

it certainly looks to me like another of their ill-considered, badly implemented publicity stunts

I was in Tesco yesterday with a friend, & at the checkout I stopped them from using carriers, & got out my 99p Lidl bag that I always carry in my backpack. my friend got no points for using either of those bags, making a mockery of their (no doubt very expensive ) advertising campaign

(mind you, their ads have always annoyed me, I wanted to strangle that stupid character Prunella scales played)
  • MSE's should turn up at their local tesco's with as many wheelbarrows as possible (other suggestions welcome) - would a miniskip fit through Tesco's door?

I shall treat that comment with the contempt it deserves, lol!

we bought some bags for life. hubby took one to the local tesco metro where he bought about 5 very small items. he put them into his bag for life and was given 2 points for using it even though a normal carrier would have only been 1/4 full with what he bought.

its not that offensive. infact its quite amusing.

did anyone complain when kenny everet (gawd rest his soul) did his cupid stunt bit on tv?
There's someone in my head, but it's not me

Sorry - didn't mean to sidetrack anyone from the Tesco issue.
if it's all that offensive to you, you could always use the ignore option

    anyway, back on topic
I was in a Tesco Metro this afternoon, & there was a small sticky poster thing on the side of the conveyor, saying that if you used ANY bag other than one of their carriers you'd get points

don't use a clubcard myself, but I hate this lack of a coherent policy thing Tesco seem to have
