ebay help pleeeeease? buying saying they havent recieved item

Hermum is correct, items do get lost so just refund and then use your COP tor eclaim loss from RM.
I also agree about Amazon, if you think Ebay favour the buyer you might end up with a real shock if you sell on Amazon, it is easy for buyers to get a refund and to keep the item in certain circumstances. In fact anywhere you sell it remains your responsibility to ensure buyers get their goods.

i haven't had any problems with Amazon but I haven't sold that many things on there - maybe a matter of time! I don't think I will be able to claim the money back from Royal Mail for item lost in post as although I have info regarding my ebay listing and price it sold for as well as proof of posting I don't have anything to prove original cost and in on the Royal Mail form it says you have to have that for claims on ebay sales0

I'm not a scammer, but I won't bid on items with this, as it irks me so. I hate the implication that I'm likely to fake non receipt, or worse, actually want a refund if my item does fail to arrive!I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

If it's a private sale just send the RM a copy of the paypal invoice an the ebay sale and they will refund the full amount if below £41. i have noticed ALOT of people putting the same thing as you on their listings, and in future i think that this is what im gunna have to do. i mean yes it could have got lost in the post, or she could be wearing them right now, but i guess its my own stupid fault for not going for recorded delivery!
I have been stung far too many times in the past with 'items not received', so have gone recorded delivery for everything I sell. For the sake of an extra 74 pence, for me it has made selling, safer.
I don't understand why people claim recorded is a waste of money because my last 15 items all tracked correctly.0 -

IMHO
1. It makes your listings 74p more expensive.
2. Recorded does not always track, if you search on here you will see quite how bad it is. To be fair, 15 is hardly a fair way to assess.
3. When you face your first INR and the tracking says 'item being processed through the RM network. Your INR will be ruled in the buyers favour. And as a thread on here quite recently confirmed, RM would not pay out as their more detailed system showed the item delivered. A lose lose situation.0 -
I love all the other sellers adding recorded to their listings. It makes me 74p cheaper, puts me higher up in best match and results in a lot more sales for me.
Even if recorded tracked I really couldn't afford that sort of money out of my profits. 120 items a month would cost me £88.80 and I'd rather have that than give it to RM. When you face an INR and there is no tracking that is even worst. I have been there on many occasions and it is even worst when the buyer does not cooperate with you in getting compensation which means you lose out on the claim.0 -

I fear you are missing the point.
Buyer opens an INR, seller can only win if they can prove delivery. If recorded has failed to update to delivery then you are no better off than i am with my proof of posting, you cannot win the dispute.
In fact it gets even worse as RM will pay me out, RM may well know your item has arrived, refuse to refund in full or to update the online message and then merely give you 74p back for failing to get a signature.
However, as I mentioned above I am extremely happy for all other sellers to use recorded as I can get all the customers and make more money. I trust my buyers and am happy to continue to send my 120 items a month standard second class and pocket the extra money I receive for my items.

Also keeping the buyer on-side in the event of RM asking them things is much better than getting on your high horse with them and arrogantly expecting them to help when you do very little to take their side of things into account.
If you pushed your obligations vis-a-vis RM onto me, I would not be very happy about that and would not co-operate with your claim at all. The best way to ensure buyer co-operation is to sort their needs out first in an open-minded and fair manner and then when RM get in touch they will be more likely to assist you. After all, their only real responsibility is to pay: everything after that is your responsibility. If the DVD I ordered from you didn't turn up within a reasonable amount of time, I'd be unhappy if you dragged your feet on a refund and then expected me to sign anything related to a claim for your benefit.
