  • I think I read that they intend to keep the goodybag prices the same for a long time (remember something about 3 years). I would think they may put a limit on the unlimmited data and texts to stop some people abusing it, but would think the limit will be high (20Gb or so).
  • I don't mind a high limit but I want the actual speed to be fast. What speeds do you guys get?
  • I am happy with the speeds I get. It all depends on where I am, ie get very slow speeds at home (have wifi so not an issue) and have had over 2300kbps in some places. I compared home, work and town with vodafone before I cancelled the contract and speeds were always just down on vodafone (by around 10%). I am happy with this as vodafones pathetic 500Mb (unlimited!) was no where near enough for even light browsing and cost soo much more.

I'm a GiffGaff user and noticed that speeds can be fine where there is 3g coverage. But it looks like O2 just ploncked a 3g aerial in each of it's 2g masts giving very spotty coverage indeed. I find that my other T-mobile connected 3g phone gets a 3g signal (and good speeds) in more areas - usually wherever T-mob have a 2g signal.

Is this 3g thing all a bit of a con?
  • I have read here and on the Giff Gaff community board that there is some loss of funtionality with Blackberry. Can anyone enlighten me as to what this might mean in practice, appart from loss of BBM? thank you

No BIS support, so none of their push email and probably some other stuff.
  • So is it no good for a novice user then?

Ordered a simcard and only seen the offer of £5 credit.

Can you do a DD for the £10 goodybag as had a contract for 8 years and still happy with my phone. And its just 30 days rolling contract?
  • Its PAYG, there is not rolling contract. You can buy "goodybags" which last for 1 month, after the month it reverts back to PAYG unless you buy another goodybag. You can have 1 active goodybag and one queued to begin when the first expires. Therefore you will need to log into your account every 2 months to buy 2 more goodybags.

There has been talk of introducing a DD scheme but it wont happen anytime soon.
