  • Is there anywhere on the GiffGaff site I can see how much data/texts/calls I'm using??

I currently have a GiffGaff sim in my iPhone 4 and has been great but have been offered a deal with Virgin for 500 mins, 3000 texts and "unlimited data" (1GB) for £11 per month - need to see how I have been using my unlimited GiffGaff sim to see which works out better value for me...
You might have to rely on the 'counters' on the Iphone.
With GiffGaff (and depending what goody bag you have) I only get available minutes left, as text and data is unlimited, it just tells me I have 'unlimited' left!
  • Yes that's exactly what I have! I bought the £30 unlimited everything goodbag half price and it just tells me that I have unlimited data, calls and texts left - not much help!!

What's the counter you mentioned? Virgin have offered me the chance to trial the tariff for 28 dys so could be a massive help to have a reliable way to track what I'm using up.

    Thanks! :money:

  • free internet is only avalialble until december, after that they are gonna charge: 50p a day (if you use less than 2.5MB/day you'll pay less than 50p and if you go over 30MB you'll be charged extra at 20p/MB)

how does this tariff compares to the other networks? most of them they give 500mb a month... I dont know what's a better deal...

You will not be charged internet on goodybags... only if you do not use one will it be charged (and the charging date has already slipled from June this year to December...

No there is no facility to check on data, calls or texts.

By the way 'unlimited' should mean unlimited - 1GB is not unlimited.
That's like saying free and paying for it!

If it trangresses site rules, yes. Several folk have had posts in this thread deleted because they were were soliciting/offering the giff gaff £5 referral credits which ain't allowed on this board.

I did not do that. Unless saying I had 2 phones I needed to get unlocked so I could get them onto giffgaff is against the rules??
  • Just had a number ported to giffgaff.com - well pleased - £10 goodybag a month gives me 150mins,Unlimited Texts Unlimited Internet and free calls to 0800 numbers (18185) bloody brilliant!

    Nice one :)
  • I really suggest you dont use giffgaff. When things go wrong you are stuck with what you can do. The website is confusing and the forums dont answer questions. If you ask one of there agents for help you will wait forever for a reply back also irritates you when they say look at forums for an answer when there is on solution to it on it.

Couple of things to note which is not clear calls to 0870 and 0845 numbers are a hefty 20p a minute and not inclusive of any goodybags. There payment systems and activation systems are hit and miss and have constant gliches or what they call gremlins. Also picture messages are not inclusive at 16p min each. I if was you read the small print first before joining at these points. Also they dont have data roaming full stop abroad.

Just read very closley there terms and conditions and prices. Not everything is good to be true.

I notice your only posts so far are to slag off mobile phone operators.
I agree that many / most of them do charge high prices - but I disagree that GiffGaff is as bad as you describe.
I actually like the forums rather than a curt 'customer (dis)service' offered by other operators.
Out of interest which mobile company do you recommend?
