I'd avoid GiffGaff like the plague, if you check their forum you'll see there's a large amount of people who've wasted their time and money (myself included) and haven't received any service.

I've spent nearly a week just trying to get their system to activate sim cards for my Children. Several 'agents' are fully aware of my situation yet none of them have done anything about it.

I've suggested that the people who have lost out, take GiffGaff to court by uniting together to bring a class action. Is there anyone who can advise on how we would get the wheels in motion to do this.

If you 'Google' bluesky and GifGaff you'll see a lot of people who have been messed around for days, some of them weeks and this is only a small amount of the others who are posting.

    Thank you

  • Sorry to hear that bluesky.

However, I received an additional sim this morning - popped it into my daughters phone - activated and topped it up and had the credit added and she was able to make calls with no delay whatsoever.

My daughter already has giffgaff for her school phone (old phone for emergencies) and now has one in her modern mobile.

I used giffgaff myself until T-Mobile provided a super deal (the £7.50 per mth one) but I would not hesitate to go back with them.

I can honestly 100% say that the online service is fantastic and I have never had any reason to complain.

I suggest you post to the community and ask for an Agent to contact you.

    Best wishes
    Richard
  • I love the name Giff Gaff - sounds fun - I've not joined it yet but going to any day (thanks Neil) - I have my sim card just waiting for Santa to bring me my new prezzie...
Must admit slightly confused I am going to put £10 on but not sure if thats for a goody bag or 'normal monthly charge' so watching this post for answers.

If you choose not to buy a goody bag then your £10 will just be used to pay for calls (8p/min) and texts (4p/text), top up again when your credit gets low (it doesn't have to be monthly).

Hi motherhen. The £10 you activate with is for either airtime credit or goodybag(you can specify which one you want when activating).Even if you choose the airtime credit at the start, you can convert that credit into a goodybag at a later stage(if you dont use it of course).Depending on your usage,it may be better to stick to using credit on traditional payg basis as internet is free until 28th Feb 2011 anyway.Calls on payg basis are 8p per min/texts 4p per text.
