    Oh yeah just realised that!
The only way you can buy out of your contact is to sign up to a new 18 or 24 month plan anyway
So cant get simplicity till december after my contact ends, wont have the unlimited data but dont know how much i actually use anyway

A few rules before you can take advantage of the offer. You have to:
    1. Have paid your Early Upgrade Offer charge;
    2. Sign up for a new 18 or 24 month minimum term Pay Monthly or 24 month Business airtime contract with O2 with an iPhone at the normal price for that phone and on our iPhone tariffs; and
    3. Agree that you won't have a change of mind period and won't be able to go back to your old tariff.

    Hey dustystar!

With O2 you don't have to transfer your number when you take out your contract. You can do this at anytime after. So, order your simplicity, ask Orange for your pac code, when you get your simplicty sim call O2 and give them your Orange PAC code, your number will then be transfered to O2 within 2 working days I think it is.

Using your PAC code will automatically terminate your Orange contract but remember you will have to give 30 days notice so even if your contract ends on the 26th you will have to pay them a months line rental from when you "give notice".

    thanks DRM.

I suppose I should give my notice to Orange now then?

I really hope now though that the iphone4 isn't absurdly expensive on PAYG, I have a £400 budget and no more.

Is it wrong that I'm a bit nervous about the possibility of leaving Orange, it's like leaving home! :rotfl:

Has anyone looked at the Tesco iPhone packages? IIRC they have one year contracts, SIM only and PAYG - for the 3GS they are Martin's best buy. It is only costing me £540 for the handset plus one year minutes/ texts/ data.

Has anyone seen this deal on the O2 website?
    12 month blackberry simplicity
    unlimited data and text
    300 minutes
    £10 per month!

    http://shop.o2.co.uk/tariffs/simplicity/blackberry/12_months

The iPhone simplicity costs £5 more! But from what I hear you can use the blackberry ones.

I'm undecided whether to go with a PAYG or contract. I think the PAYG option will have to offer a bigger saving for me to choose it over contract.

I don't think an Blackberry tariff works on iPhone due to the servers being different when you are surfing and browsing on line...

There is apparently a very specific way around it as the poster above says- but I wouldn't know what/how its done.
  • Ermmm.... I forgot to mention that O2 EXPECT TO RELEASE PRICES ON MONDAY

Below is the copy of my conversation. I asked 3 questions, but he only really answered (the most important) 1 & 3.

You: 1. When do you expect to be able to provide the purchase price for the iPhone PAYG? I need to budget for the cost.
You: 2. I've registered my interest in the iPhone 4 on the website. Are you actually going to be sending out micro sims early?
Danny: Ok we have no idea at present as to the pricing on the new handset yet. We are expecting the prices to be launched on the 15th oh this month
Danny: All you would need to do is call our customer care team once you have the handset to request the micro sim to be sent to you
You: 3. When I purchase the Iphone 4, I will still be on an existing contract. Does this mean that when you move me over to the iPhone, I'll get unlimited internet (not wifi) or will I be put on the 500mb limit?
You: That's all the questions for now.
Danny: You would remain on the tariff you have now yes
You: Fantastic. Thanks for your help Danny.

Apparently you just have to change something in your APN settings as on this clip:

I don't have an iPhone so I'm not sure what you change it to, apparently you just change it to O2 or something?

Been trying to find the answer to this since it was posted on HUKD yesterday http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/697006/simplicity-sim-for-blackberry-12-mo I can't find a definitive answer as to wether you can use it long term in an iPhone or not. If anyone would take the time to online chat with O2 and ask it would be cool!

Obviously you would lose the official visual voicemail but would be a reasonable saving over the 12 months
