Is it safe to wait til 15th to find out PAYG prices on o2 and then buy the Iphone simplicity sim? Will it include the unlimited data right up til 24th?0

Hey Airyfairy76, looks like you've done your homework and yes this is an excellent option and one that I would recommend. The O2 Open scheme only adds weight to your benifits going along this route. If you get the Simplicity before the 24th then O2 have stated that you will get to keep all the "unlimited options"
It will suck having to pay two contracts for a few months but as you've worked out you'll be better off in the long run.
As a side note, make sure you've chosen the right Simplicity tariff when you sign up as changing it to another tier at some point along the contract could mean you would lose the unlimited internet.

O2 have indicated this and you should be ok till the 23rd but it's a risk you'll have to take. My advice would be to sign up to Simplicity for iPhone now and if the PAYG prices arent to your liking you can cancel the sim within 14 days.
Don't forget http://www.quidco.com/o2 or http://www.topcashback.co.uk/o2/ to get £25 in ya back pocket (unless as airyfairy76 has done you find someone who works for a company on the O2 Open scheme, it extends to friends and family)Hardcore moneysaver0 -

Many thanks djrobacAnd yes, I have already worked out which tariff to go for. Off to O2 with my payslip and O2 Open code I go tomorrow! Saving money, only being tied in for 12 months and "future proofing" my tariff with unlimited data at a good monthly price. Win-win!

djrobmac me again
you seem pretty clued up on these things
What's the best option for me I'm out of contract with CPW O2 now on a rolling one whilst i decide what to do.
My plan was to buy the 3gs with Tesco on the £20 a month 12 month deal paying £320 for the phone up front and then after 12 months stick a simplicity sim in it for £20 a month
Obviously Tesco have not announced anything yet so in limbo before the 24th
Now want the iphone 4
But it seems like the only option for me at the moment is to pay circa £500 for the phone and still pay £20 a month for a simplicity before the 24th
This way i'm about £200 out of pocket as i would have been paying the £20 a month to Tesco instead of the simplicity and getting a reduced price phone.
I'm a low user minutes/text wise and unsure of my web usage until i get the phone but don't want to miss a deal with O2 if it ends on the 24th.
Appreciate at the moment things are sketchy with regards networks and tariffs
The only network i can not have is T Mobile as i get no signal
Thanks in advance to anyone answering0 -
Where do I find the iPhone simplicity sims on the website to buy?
I currently have 2 months left of a sim only deal with o2 but it is not the iPhone one. Am I best to just get a whole new one and number etc on the iPhone simplicity? Is that easiest?
Thanks0 -

In your situation you have two options, i'm guessing you'll be able to wait and see what the pricing models are from all the networks before you have to go with the above route. If you don't have around £450-£500 to spare then a contract will be your only option to get an iPhone 4, this obvously will be more expensive in the long run (more expensive tariffs) but enables you to afford the iPhone 4 with a smaller initial outlay.
As I have said countless times, IF you can afford it the PAYG/Simplicity route is by far the best value option!Hardcore moneysaver0 -

I would consider calling O2 and asking if you can change your tariff to an iphone simplicity. I believe that can be done. If not http://shop.o2.co.uk/tariffs/simplicity/iphone/12_monthsHardcore moneysaver0 -
Remember the rumours are saying that iPhone 4 on O2 will follow the 3GS pricing model for contracts. Just to remind you, this is how the 3GS was at launch.Hardcore moneysaver0
