If you're going to rubbish someone elses argument then back it up.. dont just mutter things like that. That's not an argument...

In fairness, you've yet to back up your claim that 32GB is 'enough'. Many Apple fans are bemoaning the lack of a 64GB model (and the continuing lack of a card slot).

IMO, the lack of memory is probably cost related, but that's an educated guess.

i suspect its marketing, apple have constantly over charged (like they do for everything) for upgrading memory 200-400% the cost of buying the memory yourself ...

Presumably it is "enough" because Apple say so.

When they release a version with greater memory it will be "more than enough"

    you made the statement

There is simply no way you would use up 32GB easily hahaha

i use up 32mb very easily, i have been forced to delete stuff, i also have a 128gb pen drive on my keyring with 109gb of stuff on it

so your statement is being polite wrong, impolite utter !!!!ing !!!!

Have you actually got some severe social interaction problem? Do you really have to resort to flaming/swearing when trying to make a point :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Thats just too funny - These forums used to be so friendly :)

You're now comparing a pen drive storage to an iphone storage saying as the iphone cant store as much as a pen drive its not a good PHONE...??
    :rotfl::rotfl:

32GB is more than enough for a phone/music device.. If you want to carry more than 32GB of data then fine, don't get the iphone, but not many people will *actively* be using more.

Ok I said 32GB will never be fully used and I stand by it but I did mean actively... By actively I mean listening to every song, watching every tv prog/film (and wanting to store it) every couple of weeks... It's impossible!!

So yes, more storage would be nicer, and next year a new device with more storage will come out I'm sure.. But listen to the above argument

You're all saying the iPhone isn't a good device because it has 32GB of memory??! That's an insane reason to choose a different device haha...

And as for comparing it with a pen drive... I'm still loling over it. This is a smartphone, not meant to be a backup device.

To be fair that is incorrect.

Apple have long since sold phones that looked great, were massively hyped but lacked some basic functions.

So they will deliberately release a 32GB version now and then in a few months launch the 64GB version as the new big thing.

True to Apple they will release a 64gb and demand much more for it.

Some of the basic functions have been around for a very long time and the multitasking isn't that great on the new Apple OS. Other handsets do it much much better.

Should you wish you carry a lot of music, for example, on your phone then you could easily fill up 32GB.
No one is suggesting that you listen to it all in one go.
It is about providing you with a choice to be able to listen to different things.

The same is true of video which requires even more storage.

The key word above is "choice"

Something that Steve Jobs and his merry men like to limit.

I don't think anyone has said it isn't a good device because it has 32Gb of memory. However, some people have said it would be a better device if it had more. If you want more than 32GB of storage on a phone then choosing one that gives you that is certainly not insane.

If you're happy with 32GB that's great but there are plenty of people who would like more.

If you put your music collection on it, take some photos and shoot some video it will soon fill up.

Are you not getting a little carried away with yourself? The iphone is not as good as other handsets, it won't do what some people want it to do and the premium Apple will ask for some features will already be out in the field and in some cases better for example, 5MP camera, front facing camera, multitasking (not that great on the iphone), removable battery, some phones already have it and better too.

If the iphone gets you all excited and rushes blood to a certain part of your body than by all means buy it but just because Apple say its a good phone doesn't mean so for us all. It looks nice but that and the screen will not make me part with the cash they want and don't be so aggressive to people that don't think its all that.

Storage wise when i sync my Pre Plus with itunes it is just music and 16gb is enough for that and some vids and pics but as a rule i move those to my laptop anyway. I'm not yet one for buying movies from itunes, are they not restricted to be played on the device you sync to?

The iPhone is as good if not better than the closest competitors.. The fact that the camera is 5mp does not make it worst than an 8mp camera.. its not all about pixels you know..! :)

Multitasking is pretty good on OS4, but thats a swipe at the OS rather than the handset :)

Removable batteries, who cares? The iPhones new battery is very very powerful and good.. it lasts.

I will be buying it.. This is the iphone 4 thread for people that wanted to follows its release and find out more about it.. instead, there are people calling us who want it idiots for various reasons... *yawn*

A discussion is fine, but I wasn't the one swearing at other people :)

If you want it then buy it.

I don't think you are an idiot.

I will be interesting to see how the battery holds up "in the wild" - seems good specs but not sure at this point how you can say "it lasts" unless you have secretly been using one for some time?

Or did Steve say "it lasts"?
