Are you telling me that in this day and age 32gb is not enough memory?!

An mp4 is a couple of hundred megs..... There is simply no way you would use up 32GB easily hahaha. And though in a year that may be different, a new device will be out then.
With you all the way there, I have a 64gb touch and I have over 50gb used, Last night I decided to tidy it up, once I had removed stuff I had not listened to etc I was down to 29gb including books apps and films, I use the films a fair bit with video glasses so I tend to have at least half a dozen on it. Let's be serious here it would take weeks of continual play to listen to that much music, and how many people ever listen to more than a couple of dozen artists on thier mp3 player. So conclusion is that my 64gb touch is already to big for what I need, 32gb is just perfect.

Exactly jim - So yes it "could" have more but at this moment in time, 32gb is indeed enough lol! The rest of the qualities of the device means its still far superior

Can i just say the gyroscope feature looks amazing! The rotation about gravity is mind blowing! You need to see the jenga demo in the keynote to understand just what this might bring to so many apps!

The iPhones are fantastically marketed however.

Ultimately this is the key point.

Apple sell the iPhone, they promote the iPhone, and they group the products together. They don't sell the Iphone 3g the 3GS and the 4 they sell the iPhone.

Android on the other hard is a fragmented advertising market. Google don't advertise it as such, and all the vendors and networks advertise a specific phone and it's capabilities.

Apple sells Iphones on the strength of the App store, we've all see the ads where this is a screen shot of a iPhone with all the icons having call outs and grouped together (like the recent world cup one). Other vendors push the respective merits of each phone, not the overall system.

Because of this Apple have full page iphone adverts, promoting the whole ecosystem, whereas most other phone networks tend to do adverts of a bundle of phones and no clear android message, or vendors promote one single phone.

Gah! Okay, lets lay this out.

Android - if you want to customise and hack your phone.
iPhone - if you're the kind of person who wants something that just works.

I was considering the HTC, was almost sold until I saw the iPhone. My last one is 19 months old, I've never had a phone like the iPhone which is as good today as it was 19 months ago and I'm still happy with it. I need a better camera, that's the only reason I'm swapping. It's only crashed twice in 19 months.

Android just isn't as polished yet. It tries to do too much. I'd rather have it restricted and stable than fabulous and crashable.

This is an iPhone thread, not a convince the people reading this that HTC is better. It's off topic.

I shall be looking forward to the comments of 'my HTC has never crashed' or 'I still can't fit 200GB uncompressed audio on it', well if you're happy with the HTC why on earth are you reading a thread about the iPhone 4?

Apple doesn't yet own your soul? Don't worry, there's an App for that too...

    My Desire hasn't crashed yet.

With respect, it was taken off topic by the claims that this new iPhone kills Android.

Because I'm interested in all new technology products. Just because I own an Android phone now, doesn't mean I'm tied to the OS. This is my first Android product and my first HTC product too. My next choice of phone will not be limited to any one vendor or OS - it will be the product which best fits my needs at the time I come to change.

Don't you have a laptop? Are you away from home for more than 3 weeks every time? :p

I have more than one laptop, but if I carry that, I don't need music on a DAP or phone. When I travelled recently, I left my laptop, camera and DAP at home and just used my Desire for everything including internet access. That was perfect for travelling light - why would I want to take a laptop when I can take a few 16GB micro SD cards instead??
