iPhone '4' thread

Perhaps Tesco has decided to say out of stock to stop people calling. It's wrong if that is the case. They'd be better of saying that we're not selling the iPhone 4 until X date.0

Went in to my local TESCO today and saw it! I am in love! He showed me a white one on his screen and I nearly squealed. It looks gorgeous in white! Roll on August when the whitie comes out! Had a play with the black one and its so cooool!0

3 was quite sensible, bet on the 1st with stocks exhasted everywhere and thier priceplans they are going to wipe the floor with PAC ins, great marketing move "3 have ip4's and the best plans available, just order on the website" cue many new 3 customers
This format has worked for 3AU, and the Scot whom ran 3AU moved to 3UK as CEO a few years ago.If I helped or saved you money - Thank me
If I helped you spend some money - spank me
If I done both - :lipsrseal me:eek:0 -

Not sensible just low down the pecking order, they are not expecting stock until the 14th July as they left it too late to secure 1st wave stock. Therefore not selling phones on launch day was out of their hands.
New customers won't be able to buy direct from 3 until at least August, maybe beyond if you go by their Desire fiasco. At least they have a done a deal with Apple Store who are able to sign up new customers on their behalf using Apple Store stock. Judging by my call earlier today they tried to persuade me to buy a Desire and not an iPhone despite getting a text saying I have one reserved. I they backtracking due to a potential stock problem similar to the the desire episode. I hope not.0 -
Hi I haven't had time to read this whole thread through but I wanted to find out if anyone is having the same issue as me.
When I use the phone without headphones I have trouble hearing the person down the line. The speakers on this phone seen extraordinarily weak and I am in two minds about sending it back to Orange.
I signed up for a 24 month contract at £36 a month and paid £89 for the 16gb Iphone 4 *gulp*. Lovely phone despite the fact that I am having trouble connecting to my home wifi but I am not sure if I want to be stuck with a phone that I can just about make a decent call on for two whole years. I remember struggling with the motorola v600 for which was a complete nightmare and that was only 12 months!0 -

You don't have screen protection covering the top mic, do you?0 -
The new Best Buy superstore in Hedge End (Southampton) had about a half-dozen iPhone4 in stock (some on Orange, some on Vodafone, some 16GB, some 32GB). They also had one one a display stand you could marvel at; over the other side they had many, many iPads to play with, and at the back, in case you got tired of Apple stuff, they had a Samsung 3D TV you could watch a demo film on.
Prior to going there, I went into the nearby Tesco Extra (exit 8 of M27) and asked the chap when he would have iPhone4 in, as I saw a sign saying they were out of stock today. He 'hoped' by end of this month, but I should check their website. And they were lower down on the pecking order than the Apple store. I filled him in on all the nonsense Tesco was putting people through.
For some strange reason, perhaps I'm a die-hard MoneySaver, I declined to take the iPhone4 from BestBuy, hoping against hope that Tesco might get their act in order next week.

I also received my invoice from Apple online today with no IMEI number on it! What did Apple say when you rang them?
And those of you who bought from an Apple store, does your receipt say anything about an IMEI number? What about if bought from one of the networks (they usually include it).
I got iphone on the 3 network IMEI number on back of box put into system manually and yes is on my emailed receipt from Apple.0 -
After months of lurking on this thread and looking forward to getting the iphone4 I just wanted to say how utterly ANNOYED I am with TESCO!
I have spent hours of the past few days calling them only to be told of 'system' failures and now they are sold out - I have had one rude girl and the last time I got through it connected and then they hung up!!!! Their systems must have literally only been working for a few hours before they sold out and I was also told they had lots of stock.. Grrrr
Shocking service. They don't deserve to be able to sell the iphone4.
Think I am going to order through Apple and go with O2 simplicity. Not in a hurry for it.0 -
Yes I had a call from 3 a day or so after texting me they had reserved me one trying to get me to have a 3GS, so think you could be right.
I wonder whether they have very small stocks of the iPhone and are trying to tempt those who have registered with other offers!! Will see if he calls back on the 1st?[/QUOTE]0
