I'm not lazy - i only have one Tesco phone shop within a 30 mile radius and they have none. Was i too lazy to stand in a queue for several hours on launch day? Yes, probably, but more likely i had other things to do - like work.

If the store sells out within a couple of hours and they send you an email inviting you to call them to place an order then, yes, i get very frustrated when i can't due to system issues.

Agreed. I also didn't fancy standing in line for several hours with a 5 month old baby (I'm sure the other people queueing wouldn't have appreciated it too!). I have no issue with them having problems - I just can't believe there isn't a message on the website or an automated message on that 0800 number to stop people repeatedly trying. Yet they still sent out the email reminding us the Iphone is now available and to ring up to order one.

I'm sure the people working in Tesco's call centre are as thrilled about this as we are...

Apparently, according to a BBC 5Live interview today, iPhone 4 users who go to the Apple store to complain about the 'left hand lost signal phenomenon' are being given a free Apple Bumper to alleviate the problem.

Sorry if its already been posted. but i avnt seen it

The Desire whilst a very very good phone will not see off the iphone in sales volumes but the next HTC device will like the Evo4g be something that Apple will have to beat. The Desire in the way of functions and speed does compete with the iphone and is being shown to be very popular with lots of people waiting for orders to come through.

HTC won't try and claim they have invented video calling, they wont say that a 5mp and front facing camera is something truly great because its on a HTC made phone.

A HTC phone such as the Evo or Desire with WebOS and the UI that goes with it will be a very very good phone.

Apple fail in the sense of OS and UI but do well in build quality. The multitasking on the iphone OS is truly dreadful compared to WebOS. Apple need to keep any eye i on Google and HTC now that Google have picked up some of those behind WebOS, a platform that HP paid over $1b for.

I think what you are saying is the Desire and next generation are better phones than the iphone but the marketing of Apple means that the iphone will be the sales leader.

Crazy, I am glad I got a Desire on avery cheap contract:D

Just spent over an hour on the phone to Tesco, just to be told their system is down.
Maybe someone's holding it the wrong way?

I think I'd rather have that than permanently engaged...
  • I finally got through to Tesco a minute ago (after having to endure a couple of minutes listening to The Four Seasons) only to be told that they were out of stock of iPhone4's :(

    WATCH OUT

If you bought sim free from Apple online store then your invoice does NOT have your IMEI on it. I have called apple and requested something with an IMEI be sent out because you will need it for your mobile insurance!!

I also received my invoice from Apple online today with no IMEI number on it! What did Apple say when you rang them?

And those of you who bought from an Apple store, does your receipt say anything about an IMEI number? What about if bought from one of the networks (they usually include it).
  • Just got through to Tesco and there systems are up.

But they don't have anymore in stock.

Did you ask how they managed to sell out of them given that the system seems to have been down since the day they went on sale?
