HTC Desire doesnt have these problems, maybe there is some truth in the Desire being an iphone killer altho Apple are doing their best to kill it anyway:D

The Desire whilst a very very good phone will not see off the iphone in sales volumes but the next HTC device will like the Evo4g be something that Apple will have to beat. The Desire in the way of functions and speed does compete with the iphone and is being shown to be very popular with lots of people waiting for orders to come through.

HTC won't try and claim they have invented video calling, they wont say that a 5mp and front facing camera is something truly great because its on a HTC made phone.

A HTC phone such as the Evo or Desire with WebOS and the UI that goes with it will be a very very good phone.

Apple fail in the sense of OS and UI but do well in build quality. The multitasking on the iphone OS is truly dreadful compared to WebOS. Apple need to keep any eye i on Google and HTC now that Google have picked up some of those behind WebOS, a platform that HP paid over $1b for.

all it would take would take for tescos to redeem themselves would be to actually post updates on the status of the order system online. i keep checking message boards like this to find out what's happening as when i phone it's constantly engaged. I got through last night, only to be told 10am today... 10am today - still engaged - it's so frustrating not knowing whether you're wasting your time phoning so i do appreciate the updates ppl are posting

Unlimited on your home, assuming your ISP has no cap on use-age.

I already added that only a few posts earlier

What it says is that a software upgrade is going to stop the meter fluctuating when the signal does

And an antenna expert contends that the best place to place it is at the bottom. This is unlike almost all other phones where it's at the top, facing outwards, behind the speaker and above the battery, and almost all other handheld radio gear where the aerial sticks out of the top.

Also, this person says there's no point in or requirement for testing the performance of the aerial with someone holding it.

Well, actually there is. With high power equipment holding the end of the aerial while transmitting may cause electric shocks and burns.

Then there's some technical waffle about holding the phone causing difficulty moving frequency to a different channel

It is surely a spoof, I thought

    But maybe it isn't

They sold me one fine. just walked in and got it.

If people got off their lazy butts and went down to the store they would have had a chance of getting one. It seems some would rather just sit on the phone for hours then moan when a Tesco staff member tells them about a problem they already knew about before ringing.

I'm not lazy - i only have one Tesco phone shop within a 30 mile radius and they have none. Was i too lazy to stand in a queue for several hours on launch day? Yes, probably, but more likely i had other things to do - like work.

If the store sells out within a couple of hours and they send you an email inviting you to call them to place an order then, yes, i get very frustrated when i can't due to system issues.
  • cheers for speedy reply guys and girls, was hoping that was the case as i think its discusting they are scrapping unlimited data :( but business is business i guess (unless your tesco, who dont seem to want any :rotfl:)

Just spent over an hour on the phone to Tesco, just to be told their system is down.

They said they're testing it again at 12 though.

I did EXACTLY the same. Finally got through after just over an hour's trying and was told "system's still down. Try again at 12. But that's not guaranteed either"

Would appreciate it ALOT if anyone who gets through after 12 can post an update :)

Why can't Tesco have an automated message advising us that their systems are down? I spent 1 hour on Thursday, 3 hours yday and 1 hour today calling their number. It's disgraceful customer services! So much time has been wasted by so many people.

The company has a turnover of £60billion and can't organise a phone system after 3 days! It's pathetic! Will be popping into my local O2 store and picking one up from them instead.
